For display / video there is no difference. For audio if your HDMI cable is very long like 10 meters for example than quality of cable does make a different
Not entirely true.... Try passing 4K or 3D signals or full res 4K+3D signals through a standard speed cable or any version lower than 1.4.. See how that works.. A High speed HDMI cable is required. Be careful though as not all cables labeled as "high speed" are actually high speed cables.. Then there's HDR which is supported from version 2.0a.
