Cybertime vs. SK

Scourge: Qop, Warlock, Sandking, Venomancer, Bear
Sentinels : Chen, VS, Viper, THD, Visage

This is the match that the neutrals are looking forward to. SK as always being the team to beat and Cybertime being the most consistent winner of various tournaments lately .With roster changes by both sides, both teams will be looking forward to test their newly found synergies against a top team and they got their wish at a first round match!

With THD, Viper, Visage farming at top, mid and bottom, SK's Chen and VS roam around netting in some kills early on. Movements by them anticipating ward positions by Cybertime accurately successfully deny Cybertime any rhythm early game. The best efforts of Sandking and Veno cannot prevent SK from getting on with their kills in small skirmishes around the map. After an agonizing first half hour, Cybertime decided to push once Warlock got his refresher orb. The double Inferno with Fatal Bonds proved to be decisive as the pushing campaign could not be stopped with SK's draft effectively resulting in Sentinels losing 5 outlying towers from the 36th to the 43rd min. A push to finish off the mid base tower ended with Cybertime losing some heroes and Euls are decided to be made to counter the annoying Visage.

Those series of pushes totally wiped out SK's early dominance and now placed them at the losing end. Although both sides have ultra late game heroes, it's the Akasha that is decisive in the long run. Akasha got her Skadi and Euls after the push and proceeds to farm more. An interesting battle at the 45th min comes up with 2 triple kills by Visage and Qop respectively with Qop's involvement crucial in the victory.

By the 52nd min , Visage already has its Radiance and Heart farmed up , Viper is aiming for Aegis Rapier with BKB and Vanguard already on it. A fatal flaw from the THD allowing it to be caught by Cybertime forced SK to face their push at the bottom lane with 4 heroes. At this time , Cybertime already has 3 Euls in the team. with Bear taking the brunt of the damage , Cybertime cleared everyone except for the Visage since it spent most of the time getting euled.

Capitalizing on their new found advantage, Cybertime make 2 more pushes which was countered pretty well by SK with the Visage getting some kills along the way. At 12 mins after the hour, SK did a daring push back in an attempt to even the score. The decision to strike the mid base tower and not the right outlying tower of scourge prove costly for SK as 4 heroes died coupled with Qop and Bear did a fast counter-push to take out the Sentinel's bottom 2 raxes and a mid base tower. Cybertime definitely have the advantage now.

From then on, Cybertime never let go their momentum and keep pressing. Although Visage got her Beyond Godlike along the way, it proves to be in vain as SK lost eventually in a game that lasted 95 mins. Overall both teams did ok for a first round match. Cybertime can do better in wardings early on while SK's draft ultimately proved to be their downfall with AOE and tankers all getting drafted by the opposing team leaving their main farmers exposed in team battles. Unforced errors throughout mid game sealed their fate in this highly anticipated match.

MVP : Bear (RoA`DoldOi)

Point Extreme vs. Autosurf-DH

Sentinels: Qop, Chen, Veno, Vs, Rhasta
Scourge: Warlock, Viper, Zeus, Enigma, Slayer

This is a quarterfinal match between 2 relatively new teams. Point Extreme being the home team could not afford to lose as their sponsors are watching nearby while Auto-Dh would want to prove that their second place finish at the last tourney was no fluke. Px drafted the deadly combination of Qop and Chen while Dh opted for a more traditional Warlock and Viper formation.

Px laned Rhasta and Vs at top facing Viper, Veno soloing mid with Warlock as its opponent while Qop faces the trio of Enigma, Slayer and Zeus at bottom with Chen as its cover. Rhasta and Vs quickly established themselves as a very strong lane combination, killing the Viper few times early on. The Qop proved to be a monster opponent with Chen as support. Although facing the spell spam of 3 heroes, it still can farm and kill a lot. A high level Veno in early game proved to be very useful. Using its high level poison spells advantage , any ganks made by Veno virtually guarantess success

Such was the Sentinel dominance that Rhasta got his Scepter by the 30th min and Qop got her Beyond Godlike kill at the 31st min. A Skadi is soon to follow and Dh has practically no chance to fight back now. A triple kill by Slayer as a result of a failed push by Px at the 41st min came to late to turn the tide. Another push at the 45th min by Px cleared both raxes at the bottom lane and netted Qop's 21st consecutive kill and her streak was abruptly ended by Slayer. It was at this time I noticed that Rhasta and Qop have not got their boots yet. A sign of arrogance? Or they just could not afford to stop farming with their dominance? Only they can answer that.

The game was ended shortly after Rhasta got his Refresher Scepter Wards placed in front of the Frozen Throne. This game shows the rise if Px as a prominent team around with the Qop as its backbone. With the resurgence of Rhasta, Auto-Dh got completely destroyed in this match up.

MVP : Qop (Px.MiaO`)

yup, i totally second Px. Miao QoP is the MVP of that match vs autosurf dh, the highlight of his performance would be at the 22 minute mark, whereby during a group engagement, he came out of nowhere and took down 4 dh heroes in that sequence, in my opinion , that sequence really stamped Px authority over this match onwards. he also repeat the same feat on the 31 minute mark, again taking down 4 heroes in a roll.

this demolition of Px over autosurf dh is particularly impressive for a new up and coming team as dh are certainly no pushovers comprising of former enet and K5 players.

Px also introduced a quite refreshing mid lane solo hero in venomancer in this tourny which were able to stay toe to toe with dh warlock, and early battles really favours Px of their high lvled veno ultimate skill.

overall, kudos to Px for bringing a breath of fresh air to the DOTA scene and hope they continue their success into future tournaments. thumbup.gif

Netcity vs Wizz

Sentinal : Lich, Zeus, Bear, Chen, Qop
Scourge : Viper, Warlock , Pugna, Sandking , Veno

This is the third-fourth placing match up of the tournament. Netcity hails from the lovely island of Penang while Wizz is the reigning WCG champion. It is interesting to note that Netcity actually became the top team in Penang after beating their nemesis , the former Team Netzero now known as Freelancers in an earlier round. Netcity was beaten by Point Extreme while Wizz was beaten by Cybertime in their respective semi final match up.

Wizz opting for heavy lane control soloes Viper top facing Zeus and Lich , soloes Warlock mid fighting Bear and puts Pugna , Sandking , Veno at bottom lane facing Qop with Chen as cover. Viper did relative well , Warlock so so but bottom lane is a disaster for Wizz. Qop with Chen support totally dominates the lane. Lack of proper warding at the bottom lane area allowed Chen to catch the 3 heroes numerous times, allowing Qop to free farm most of the time.

Bad engagement decisions by Wizz allow Netcity to build up a momentum on them. Netcity, running an identical concept to Wizz's once dominating style of play totally "murder" them in this match. Qop got her GODLIKE kill and her Skadi around the 35th min and the game is virtually over by then. Triple kills by Qop hasten the end of the game and Netcity become the second-runner up of this tournament becoming the first out-state team to get to the podium of a major tournament.

Overall it seems that Wizz just want to get the game over with as soon as possible. It has been a tiring day under the hot sun (teams who been there will know what am I talking about). While its internal team policy does not provide much motivation for a third place finish. Their farming was subpar at best and wrong decisions are made all over the game. Netcity on the other hand came fully prepared. Wardings are good , support system always there and most of all , they executed Wizz's favourite lane domination style flawlessly the whole match and deservedly got their victory.

MVP : Qop (Nct Mike Bz)

@nles :
Thanks for the feedback , will try to implement it in the future.

@MMO :
I apologise if I cannot produce as much info as you would like. I always believe that players themselves writes the best review of a replay, I am merely giving some thoughts of the game what i think should be done and stuffs.

@Replay Watchers :
Regarding the SK and Ct match , some players involved has an opinion that the MVP of the match is actually the Sandking. The damage and timing of its epicentere actually opens up various opportunities for Ct to dish up dmg to SK. I decided on Bear as MVP as it deals the most damage to the SK base and got some kills which i otherwise not expected it to get. But anyway , do take this piece of info in when you guys watch the replay =).

@Everyone who wants better quality matches :
I recently started channel IHL in our favourite Dota server , go have a look , I am sure you guys will love the concept. Thank you all for your support.

Yeah, I played in the IHL with Ben with 3 other pubbies. We lost our first ever IHL game, but overall, it was a nice game where M4GI_7 QOP got 33-3 frags, not bad. When i went into the channel, there are quite some support from major teams and some famous teams players such as Auto-Kev, Skz-Killing-Z-2, West, Skz- PopFynX, SK- M4GI_7 were there. At least you know that there are support towards your project, Underminer. GJ

Cybertime vs Point Extreme

Scourge: Qop, Chen, Viper, Enigma, Sandking
Sentinal: Warlock, Rhasta, Vs, Lich, Zeus

This is the final of the tournament. Cybertime will want to seal their mantle as one of the great teams around with the clinching of yet another title. But, they face the threat of the rejuvenated Point Extreme team which consists of old timers, many of them played competitively even before SK was formed. With home ground advantage and the confidence of steamrolling virtually any team that faces them prior to this match , Point Extreme will want to clinch this badly.

From their drafts, everyone of them got their favourite hero with the big exception of Px.Miao who uses Warlock instead of Qop. Px opted for a heavy lane control lineup with Vs , Rhasta top , Warlock mid , Lich ,Zeus bottom. Cybertime goes for a more balanced strat with Qop , Chen top , Viper mid , Enigma, Sandking bottom.

With their heroes laning , Point Extreme is using the lane domination strat made popular by Wizz in WCG 2006. Problem with ths strat is, you need to ENSURE lane domination is secured which may not go as planned everytime you play. Some times , you think you are dominating but in fact you are assessing a static situation . When players like Chen comes change the status quo , or when you break formation by going to buy goods , enemies will take advantage of that. That's what happens in this match. Chen being the "linker" of all lanes broke the status quo again and again, netting Cybertime lots of kills early game.

Although Px attempted to save the game at mid through a series of well initiated skirmishes, Cybertime's draft proved to be too strong for them with Qop leading the way dishing up huge amounts of damage. After the battle at the 45th min, Px know its all over and type their "gg"s and conceded a walkover not long after that.

With this win, Cybertime proved once again to be among the best teams in Malaysia. Point Extreme rise to fame is undisputed anymore with sublime performance along the tourney. Congratulation to both teams by putting up such a good performance.

MVP : Chen (RoA`DoldOi)

Hmm, what server is it anyway, Azeroth?

RoA`Doldoi, twice being named MVP, not bad not bad. But I think that the Sand King's effort should not be neglicted. Good play by him, thumbup.gif
