QUOTE(mrmikelim @ Feb 10 2016, 11:03 PM) i dont know about you, but i do own a D7000, based on my opinion, if you really one a huge difference, its better you go from DX to FX format, because for me a DX format will always be DX format, so the most you can see the difference if you switch to D7000 is a slight improvement on how sharp and quality of the picture you take, and easier access to those configurations. But if you say you switching to FX format such as D700, then i can genuinely tell you will notice a huge difference in terms of how sharp is the picture, its like a 18-105 compared to 24-70. |

QUOTE(mrmikelim @ Feb 10 2016, 10:49 PM) I owned a Nikon D3300 but i am thinking of upgrading it. This would be the right analysis, d3300 is many generations newer than the d3000: http://snapsort.com/compare/Nikon-D3300-vs-Nikon_D7000/specsBut it is worth it to upgrade it to D7000 ? Thanks alot Since the d3300 is much newer than the D7000, it is better in some ways than the D7000 despite being an entry level DSLR. the main advantage of a d7000 would be the better AF, weather sealing, slightly faster burst rate, 1/8000 capability and having an internal AF motor (for d lenses). Personally I think its not worth upgrading to a d7000. It makes more sense to save up and upgrade to a d7100 or D7200. Also, many times upgrading your lens will make more of a difference. Still, whether u even need to upgrade at all depends on what you are shooting |

D3300 to D7000 - I think what you get is faster AFing, that's all.
If you are thinking D3300 to D7000 to get better picture? Meh, forget it. Even going for FX won't help. Fact is if you are using APS-C and can't get good pictures, going FX won't help one bit because it's just spending more money for better image quality for same images. Perhaps you could tell us what you find lacking in your photography, we can guide you better that way. |

FACT : More often than not, photos turn out well because the person holding the camera does not understand the basics.
FACT : Due to reason above, end up the choice of setting or even lens being wrong, resulting in results that are not satisfactory. |

Thanks alot for all the replies
So right now i am actually thinking about purchasing either a used d7000 or d7100 I am definitely not lacking in lens, i have a 18-105mm, 35mm, (in the process of saving to get a 70-200mm) becuz right now i have some extra cash and planning to sell my d3300 to a friend so i am considering to upgrade to a better dslr |

Going to D7000, you go from 5fps to 6fps. Not much difference.
Supposedly better AF but from my experience is that entry level can AF quite decently so if you're good at that then D7000 may not give you any significant improvement. |

D7000 can do sports in good light...but in low light it can hunt abit unless u know where to pre-focus etc.
D7100 should do better in low light in C-AF. and comparing those with going FX wont help much unless u spend more go for D750 or older used models like D3s |
