When computer comes with graphics/video editing, it usually will relate to CUDA or OpenGL.
CUDA is from Nvidia OpenGL is from AMD.
So, 1st of all you need to understand that your video editing software is uses CUDA or OpenGL.
And, as far as I know, the video editing software that utilize GPU is usually perform better.

QUOTE(Gregyong @ Feb 10 2016, 11:36 AM) open GL is available to both as it is open sos'ed. CUDA though is Nvidia only. But Nvidia GPU is not optimized for OpenGL. AMD and Intel HD Graphics is optimized for that. Nvidia always push for CUDA.

Then what's the purpose of having a strong cpu? Strong CPU I think is more on video encode and decode.
