Today I just got back my Pioneer LX-56 from the repair shop.

I was thinking to make my LX-56 as power amp to drive my L/R channel from x3700 pre out.

Anyone using old avr as an power amp?

If can, how should I connect the 2 amp? I know if using actual power amp, normally would be using RCA cable.

assign rca input. direct mode. fix a volume level match with denon
not a good idea sure kena increase latency (delay).
front ch always prefer the shortest path

Oh noted... thanks... waiting my rca cable to arrive today....

When you said fix a vol level match with denon, what does that meant?

I had configure it but seem the volume on L/R channel hardly can hear when play netflix movie..... bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

Tomolo gonna try bluray file and see the effect.

When i rerun the audyssey, I noticed L/R channel speaker level is at max +12db, not sure correct o not.

The denon i was set at -18db when watching movie, then i set the same for pioneer avr as well...

1) fix = static not moving. once decide u leave it forever

2) before audysey. u put denon front ch level to zero db. never change it.
not master vol yaaa

3) later we use denon built in test tone to ear match front LR (using pioneer see step 4 below) vs center ch (dont change original value).
becos they r nearest positon

4) pioneer adjust master volume only (pls erase current mcacc memory bank). save as power on db.

5) run a audsey calibrate. he make all channel level equal.
check channel level result. as long any of them not touch limit 12db =pass

ideally front LR number near zero. u may repeat step 4,5 until satisfy

Thank for detail explanation. I'm rerun the calibration again now.

For step 3, u meant after audyssey is done, then manual adjust front LR ?

step 3. use the current result (you did yesterday).
force front LR to zero. so that denon wont add boost or reduce loudness.

roughly ear match LR to center ch, make it acceptable range

do above all before step 5 final calibrate
*
So can I said that to match front LR with centre channel to make it near to zero, so using pioneer master volume to control and that should be my fixed master volume position correctly?

Currently i set pioneer volume to 0db,and calibration result is showing front L +3db and front R +4.5db. Is that meant i have to increase pioneer master volume further?

audyssey run one position ah.
dont be lazy. do at least three position

middle seat, left seat (same distance but in front of left ch) & right seat (same distance but in front of right ch)

so it wont boost treble until max.
otherwise we increase toe-in angle

pioneer zero db is good enuf. going higher may explode hahaha
*
haha I did all 8 position...... i kiasu sikit laugh.gif laugh.gif

Currently the front L/R already pointing to my main listening angle already, I supposed that's the toe in angle right?
