SVS SB1000 now sells for RM3650. Price increased so much over the last few years. It's 700USD on amazon.

I am actually referring to the woofers in my front LR bookshelf speakers. Many are 5" or so, but some like Wharfedale Crystal 30.3 or Diamond 10.2 are 6.5".

Yeah I kinda agree 10" subwoofer is the recommended minimum for HT. Probably those 8" subwoofers are meant for 2.1 music where your front LR have smallish woofers like 4" or so.

Nothing. Just upgraded my TV so now looking for better sound system.

At first looking at soundbar, so far 1 have these 3 in mind:

Samsung HW-K551
Sonos Playbar
Sony HT-CT-390

Then, of course got poisoned to look at AVR, so far keeping these in compare list

Marantz NR1506
Yamaha RX-V381
Denon AVR-1713

All basically entry model, I try to keep budget below 3k with speakers.

Haven't decided which speaker to buy. Once I decided with AVR, then will start to look for speakers.

That is what I thought, but everywhere in LYN says if getting soundbar around 2k, AVR at that price range with 2.1 system is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYY better.

So, now I am confused, again. :confused:

Sorry regarding the confusion of my initial question. I meant was what will be the most suitable speakers + subwoofer (second hand if possible) for the av receiver which is Yamaha RX-V681 (Dolby Atmos). 

One more thing is that should I get the RX-V581 instead of the RX-V681 becoz the price difference was around RM400. 

yup...he set around 20K i think...since the room is small, dont want overkill as well..lol...its like getting a Porsche and driving 2km weekend

So roughly my current potential options would be

Huh? 

I might go for the demo first once I'm prepared. I don't think I'll take the subwoofer and surround from Q Acoustics tho.

I saw a guy from a website selling two of his sVs PB-2000 for 7K. One would be half of 7K.
