price about 1k 2k choose common brand will not spoil one. they are cater for beginner very friendly

denon x1600 good to go. since you have listen denon avr before.
the next demo shall use pure direct mode to learn each spk character

after choosen the one u like. baru request for calibrate (may improve or worsen depend room vs sensor position)

i hope this calculator (link below) will help you. if you are going towards reference level (i normally play my movies at -10 to -7 dB), the AVR actually hits the limit before your ears. speaker sensitivity of 88dB @ 2.83 volts / 1 meter (as an example) is actually hard to drive.
https://www.crownaudio.com/en-US/tools/calc..._power_required

just buy within your current budget. no point of topping up slightly. if you keep on digging the rabbit hole, upgraditis is always there until you hit the pro level. by the time you have learned enough, you might wanna get external amplification and advance eq. i will always prefer an AVR with pre-outs. however, the budget increase is a lot.

ur ear still ok wor.
play so loud my ear sure spoil ady

btw, newbie dunno what is ref level 0db. can u teachs him

Ya I like e-guitars and the drums particularly
*
your pattern might similar to mine.
aim speaker that remain 4khz (more high is even better) and drop 8khz slightly

Ya! That's what i thought too, since music is more complex compared to a movie.
*
fyi movie audio is more complex than music audio.

u see dolby & dts put so much audio research.
outdoor records live scene + atmos ceiling effect etc very complex
many cpu (out of human ability) need to calculate.

music got who? nobody want to do research
mostly indoor record silent studio. 1 instrument 1 track only

i have installed my side surround after 1 year i bought the speaker.. and damn, side surround is like adding so much diff to the whole setup. due to the small room i have, the side surround is like half a meter to my main listening position, and it is around 1-1.5feet above the listening ear level, but pointing at listening position. i felt the sound abit like coming out from a higher place. maybe need to tweak the speaker volume lower?
*
new method of run in = parking 1 year hmm.gif hmm.gif
u might need to match the side channel toe. use all channel stereo and reduce front db until minimal.
then toe the side pair by hand. later run 1 round audyssey

Which spec do i check for this?
Ok.. I read online that u can put electrical tape around the cables just to be safe, i think i can do that
Wah Stylelazer quote me RM26 per meter, but I dunno what brand/model la...  hmm.gif
Haha is it? I just thought music is complex cuz at the same time there's many instruments playing and also vocal, then the speakers need to be very good to represent every instruments at the same time, movie mostly has only dialogue, sometimes with music and sound effects..
*
frequency response /graph from a speaker u pick

wire tape is safe. but "expert" say pvc tape destroy good cable lo.
if worry mistakes u can try screw type banana plug about rm1,rm2 each. got black got red.
just make sure the denon avr you order able insert banana plug

"speakers need to be very good to represent every instruments at the same time"
music instrument /singer record 1 by 1. then mixing engineer (big brain) arrange them according to PD (big boss) idea.
even live stage also got independant mic for record. so u getting good separation between all details.

once u attend live concert. ok give u sitting near stage.
everything just play loud in front or sit behind listen PA speaker hahaha. where got such high quality like home audio

on the other hand, movie definitely much more work to deal with.
not soap drama yaa <<<<< mostly indoor & fixed outdoor scene only

is that SVS SB-1000 Pro good enough 16ft x 11ft living room ? or should i pick up the PB-1000 pro, my usage is 50/50 movie & music
*
estimate 4.9m x 3.4m very close to my room. quite good size for it.
if u need movie LFE bass rumble, should aim for Pb serie

else sb will let u have advantage go louder while not disturbing other house mates

Need some advise here on AVR. My current Onkyo TX-NR646 just went dead with no sound and thinking of getting a replacement unit.
My budget is just around rm4k-5k max, which will be the best AVR that I should consider at this price point?
I have basically narrow down to Yamaha RX-V6A, Denon AVR-X2700H & Marantz SR5015. The most affordable one is definitely the Yamaha.
I only need 7.2 channels since I'm having 5.1 speakers setup with bi-amp for the front. I'm also looking at the one giving better quality for 2 channel stereo music since I don't have a stereo amp.

Any suggestion on these 3 models, are these the best at this price? Any other models should be considered?
*
denon & marant pick either one newer and came with the most hdmi port/ bt wifi/ design u like.
recommend to use fat power cord from server psu

Today I just got back my Pioneer LX-56 from the repair shop.

I was thinking to make my LX-56 as power amp to drive my L/R channel from x3700 pre out.

Anyone using old avr as an power amp?

If can, how should I connect the 2 amp? I know if using actual power amp, normally would be using RCA cable.
*
assign rca input. direct mode. fix a volume level match with denon
not a good idea sure kena increase latency (delay).
front ch always prefer the shortest path

1) fix = static not moving. once decide u leave it forever

2) before audysey. u put denon front ch level to zero db. never change it.
not master vol yaaa

3) later we use denon built in test tone to ear match front LR (using pioneer see step 4 below) vs center ch (dont change original value).
becos they r nearest positon

4) pioneer adjust master volume only (pls erase current mcacc memory bank). save as power on db.

5) run a audsey calibrate. he make all channel level equal.
check channel level result. as long any of them not touch limit 12db =pass

ideally front LR number near zero. u may repeat step 4,5 until satisfy

Thank for detail explanation. I'm rerun the calibration again now.

For step 3, u meant after audyssey is done, then manual adjust front LR ?
*
step 3. use the current result (you did yesterday).
force front LR to zero. so that denon wont add boost or reduce loudness.

roughly ear match LR to center ch, make it acceptable range

do above all before step 5 final calibrate

So can I said that to match front LR with centre channel to make it near to zero, so using pioneer master volume to control and that should be my fixed master volume position correctly?

Currently i set pioneer volume to 0db,and calibration result is showing front L +3db and front R +4.5db. Is that meant i have to increase pioneer master volume further?
*
audyssey run one position ah.
dont be lazy. do at least three position

middle seat, left seat (same distance but in front of left ch) & right seat (same distance but in front of right ch)

so it wont boost treble until max.
otherwise we increase toe-in angle

pioneer zero db is good enuf. going higher may explode hahaha
