I'm studying and staying here in Tokyo (yesh, central Tokyo. Akihabara is 2 stops from my house) biggrin.gif

My Japanese language is just basic survival stuff - I came here not under any govn' sponsor at all, so I have no 1-2 years of those language learning - I just arrive here and tembak my way every single day, mixing my english with my malay with my japanese biggrin.gif i dun even know chinese, curse words i know lar tongue.gif

Life here lepak onli for a regular kopitiam guy like me, just need to know what to say and where to find cheap places to buy stuff (and in my case, know where to buy halal food).

It has been since April 2006, and I'm still alive here in my room.
Everyday learn new stuff, everyday sure got funny experience with the japanese ppl.
If a simple guy like me can do it, I think anybody also can laa biggrin.gif

I must say I don't know about the details of engineering programmes, totally not my field of research. I can answer the general questions though:

I don't know how any, even a Japanese themselves, can survive with RM400 every month. RM400 is around 13,000 Yen here. To me and everyone else here, 1,000 Yen is easily spent everyday - be it food, transportation, anything. And that does not count into the accomodation rent, the bills, and lots more. Even if one is working, limiting to just RM$400 is out of the question, not even any Japanese themselves would do that. I say RM$5,000 is the basic, most reasonable amount monthly here.

Halal food is not that hard to find in Japan. Like I said, even a simple guy like me can find them - I just Google it up and boom everything came up tongue.gif

Here's one for you biggrin.gif ---> http://www.google.com/search?q=tokyo+halal...:en-US:official

Is not difficult to get a halal food in Japan, but is expensive. My Malay friends always order the meat by telephone, and the company will courier the halal stuffs to their house.

Money is not a big deal for them. 140,000 yen scholarship per month from JPA, and without paying any tuition fee. Envy them!

Hehehe yeah, that's what the shopkeeper told me since I stayed besides his shop.
They always receive calls from people far away from Tokyo and they just send by courier service to those houses.

For me, I just walk out of my house & buy straight from their shop.
Simple as walking to the kedai runcit back in KL.

Except that the weather is cold lol rclxm9.gif

For once I've thought of studying in Japan cuz i like the atmosphere there, since i went there last year for a home-stay program, stayed in Chiba biggrin.gif

But then i really don't know what course i can take from there, and i'm more interested in piloting, so does this Jap + pilot combination work?
*
Like Tanoshi had just told, its really much depends if you can find the right uni that have those courses, I wish you the best in applying into them thumbup.gif

Right now 10kg of Thai rice = RM90+
A kilo of chicken = RM15+

Different shop, different price.
