Can Read chinese? if not, than really sorry my friends.

Luckily , i can read chinese. Thanks alot my friend . I appreciate it very much . Looks like its not really easy to survive there. But just now the consultant in IBT called me up . And i asked him alot of question and all my questions are answered . According to him , U can get school fees exemption . If u get 100% school fees exemption , ur scholaarship will go to ur living expenses. If u dont get school fees exemption , u can work part time and everything can be covered . 1 week 28 hours only . So basically financial is not as hard as i think . But i'll of course need to work hard to get those .

After calculating the numbers given in the article above, i find that the living expenses are not as high as i thought . 12000 yen = RM 400 per month for food is not that expensive .

Yeah. I'm goin IBT anyway. For my masters in Japan. Hope to gain entrance. Have u enrolled? Heard the deadline for the jan classes are over. RM 400 for 1x month living expenses is very very cheap. I spend almost 1.5K every month in malaysia during my studies so you know its almost 3 times cheaper . But I don't know if being a gaijin in Japan will cost you more like a foreigner is in Malaysia...if you know what i meant. Oh yeah for anyone who actually have studied in IBT before, can we somehow gain some examption if we have a certain proficiency in basic Japanese? What does Beginner 1 and 2, Intermediate 1 and 2 means for the part-time classes? This post has been edited by magic-addict: Dec 28 2006, 11:30 PM

My gf worked part-time before during first and second year. Around 800 yen per hour in a Japanese Restaurant. She worked few hours a day, few days a week. Quite pity her, coz had to cycling an hour to work.
After she got the scholarship for 3rd and final year, she stopped the job immediately, coz need to concentrate on her study. 100,000 per month, enough for her living expenses. Rotary club scholarship is a very rich club and having branches around the world.
For degree student, you can only apply during 3rd and final year, but this only can apply when recommended by your selected university. For master student, around 140,000 per month for 2 years . And every month, you have to attend for the meeting of the club. You can gain lot of experience during meeting with the upper societies in Japan. Most of the members of Rotary Club is director of a company.
My gf study in Public University, the tuition fee per year is around 600,000 yen. In her 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, she got 50% deduction on her tuition fee. So around 300,000 yen per year cost her for the tuition fee. Is around RM9,000 per year, cheaper compare to private university in Malaysia. Unluckily, she can't get reduction on her tuition fee during final year, may be because she already got her scholarship.
For the accomodation, she stayed in the university hostel until 3rd year of her study. Around RM150 per month ( not included the electricity and water usage ), unbelievable cheap price! Even in Malaysia, you can't get a price that cheaper than that, haha! In 4th year, she moved to cityhall hostel, around RM300 per month, coz i went Japan to visited her. Still very cheap! A room that included kitchen and bathroom.
Next year she will graduate. While most of the Malaysia graduated students still panic about their career, she already get a job offer in Tokyo, Japan during study in third year. This the benefit to study in Japan, the university students in Japan will start seeking their job while studying in final year. A lot of career fairs will be held in Japan.
Cheers! Enjoy ur study in Japan.

I think i'll be goin in with april intake as well. Have you actually enrolled or planning to enrol? Seems you've made up your mind. I'll be doin part time for my Jap lessons , not the pre-u studies that is required for Jap universities.
The gaijin = foreigner. So what i was sayin was, i am not too sure if you're a foreigner would incur 'extra' charges like a foreigner in Malaysia. Sometimes shops charges extra here if they see you belong to the foreigner class. So better to check if it happens in the place you plan to go.

BUt my parents are asking me to think it through and i think they would provide financial support for studying the entire course I'm not sure if i should continue studyin something which i don't like or to change and waste 2-3 years of my life (1 year for this hell of a year and 1-2 years for learning the japanese language ) there are also other factors which is making me vry stress ovr this issue but i prefer to not say it if there is any1 out there which hav experience wat i am experiencing right now , hopefully pm me this issue has aledy bug me for the past 2-3 weeks and really wish to solve it quick btw i'm 18 (not sure if age is a factor in determining this choice)
