There's a more efficient way of doing this. If anyone has a list of your classmate's or friend's IC numbers, you should go access their overall results for STPM 2014 on the MPM website before it's taken down when they release STPM 2015 results next month. Maybe everyone can contribute and we key it into a Google Doc haha. Not sure if it's legal though lol.

QUOTE(Just Visiting By @ Feb 5 2016, 04:03 PM) I guess it could be used as a reference but it should be emphasised that nobody knows exactly how MPM calculates the final result. I'm in. I'm from STPM 2013PENGAJIAN AMP1: B+ P2: A- P3: A K4: A (Projek) Overall: AMATHEMATICS (T)P1: A P2: A P3: A K4: A Overall: APHYSICSP1: B, U1: A P2: B+ P3: A K4: A Overall: ACHEMISTRYP1: A- P2: B+ P3: A-, U3: A K4: A Overall: A-(before U3 result was released, based on P3); sadly still A- after U3 was released. I don't understand how is the grade for STPM calculated? From my understanding of how grade is calculated it's supposed to be eg, your Physics result: P1:B(3.0) P2:B+(3.33) P3:A(4.0) K4:A(4.0) (3+3.33+4+4)/4 = 3.58 3.58 Should be B+ no?

MPM doesn't calculate your final grade that way, as you can see with my Chemistry, my final result remains the same regardless of whether I got A- or A for my third term. My school teacher made a phone call to MPM and unofficially they informed that the overall results are calculated using the total marks of each papers, which means it is impossible for one to conclusively know what their final results for the subject would be since the marks of each papers are not disclosed to the candidates.

QUOTE(LeoLibra107 @ Feb 5 2016, 06:47 PM) It is quite rare to see anyone is taking my subject combination in Lowyat lol. Guess most people here are in science stream STPM 2014PENGAJIAN AM P1: B+, U1: A P2: A P3: A K4: A Overall: A BAHASA MELAYU P1: A P2: A P3: A K4: A K5: A Overall: A SEJARAH P1: A- P2: B+ P3: A K4: A Overall: A EKONOMI P1: A P2: A P3: A K4: A Overall : A Hey we have the subjects then. I do admit, even back in 2013, netizens here are mostly science stream students. Here's my result: STPM 2013 PENGAJIAN AM P1: B+ P2: C+ P3: A K4: A Overall: A BAHASA MELAYU P1: A P2: A P3: A K4: A K5: A Overall: A SEJARAH P1: A P2: B- P3: B K4: A Overall: A EKONOMI P1: A- P2: B+ P3: A K4: A Overall : A LITERATURE IN ENGLISH P1: B+ P2: A P3: A Overall : A So my overall result is 4.00. Suprising ain't it? Even I still can't believe my result today. Anyway, regarding how they calculate it, my teacher told me that they use the raw score to calculate. Here's the tricky part, each paper (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) will usually have different graph for marking. AND, at the end when they calculate the final overall CGPA, they will also use another different graph. After changing the standardised scores so many times, it is concluded (by my teacher) that if your overall grade is higher than what you perceived from you all your previous grade, suffice to say that the subject is difficult for many who took it. You can check the MPM reports on how many percent fail their subjects in 2013.

I do have my classmates' IC numbers, but it is invading their privacy by checking their results without their permission. I myself also don't like having my result checked by someone else before asking for my permission. If you want more data google doc would be a good move

Sorry for my absence lately folks. Been busy with studying for Term 3 Repeats. Though I have ways to check the results of literally all my schoolmates, that would be huge load of work and doing that could possibly make this harmless thread into a controversy. It has to be at the full approval of the result holders that we use their results for a statistic like this. I will continue work on this after I finish my repeats. Please do keep posting your results! (Especially those 2015 students) I plan to release a quick and easy online form that will automatically put the results into an excel spreadsheet, plot graphs and such. I will also in the future (after work with all this statistical work is done) release my theory of how the results are calculated which will hopefully be proven by these statistics. The sole intention I have for doing all of this is so people no longer have to guess what their results are gonna be and that STPM students can be more aware of what they're doing. (Who knows, maybe I'll make an app that calculates the probability of your final result for you?) Haha I personally feel there's no harm for doing this because any student could simply go around in their school asking people's results and do this privately. I am simply doing this while involving you guys so that you guys can also benefit from it ultimately. Thanks and see you guys after my repeats! Wish me luck.

Ohh... such a good deed you're doing, you deserve excellent results! Back in my time I just simply take my grade's score range multiply by the proportion weightage of that paper and add them up. Hopefully there will be an apps like this... haha juniors will appreciate that.
