Anyone here bought this Prestige PE60 laptop?

Let me share you my story today, if you are willing to read all the way down:

"Dear MSI,

Today I received my Prestige PE60 laptop. Upon unboxing and turning up the laptop for the first time, I realized that the laptop display was a bit weird from what an IPS display should look like.

So, I hooked up HWiNFO 64 and the result was…

Surprise! It is a bloody “TN PANEL” by Chi Mei. To be specific, it’s a Chi Mei N156HGE-EAL. THIS IS NOT IPS PANEL! Google this up and you’ll see. The viewing angles are very narrow and the rapid colour shifts due to the limited viewing angles are driving me nuts. This a very typical TN panel characteristics.

You see, the main reason why I bought this laptop is because of the IPS display with great color reproduction and superior viewing angles as advertised by MSI! Now imagined how I feel getting something that is totally the opposite from what I was expecting it to be.

Before I bought this laptop, i even went to visit a shop at Digital Mall Petaling Jaya to see this laptop first hand, the display was great back then. Reviews on the net also mentioned that the display was great due to the IPS panel (aka Samsung PLS panel).

Also, please refer to this forum below:

https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=255688.0

Let me quote the text from the forum directly:
“With the launch of the P series, we’ve introduced what we call True Color Technology. In short, this is a name we use for pre-calibrated, 100% sRGB IPS monitor panels, carefully chosen to aid you in your daily tasks as a designer.”

100% sRGB IPS…really MSI? All this True Colour Tech is a total horsecrap to me in this so-called “PRESTIGE” laptop. The wild shift in colours especially when you change your viewing angle is totally distracting.
Please MSI, don’t dupe your customers. Don’t short-change your customers. Do something about this.

-A disgruntled customer"

TL:DR, expecting an IPS display laptop, got a TN instead.

I've complained to MSI, let see what is their response on this.

Damn, it's a bummer when almost every store including online stores are indicating that it is using IPS. Even the model that i saw first hand at a shop in Digital Mall PJ had a good viewing angle.

Some examples, follow the link below:
