Connections to Asia seem to have problems.
Connection to my UK VPN is fine, ping around 300ms which is quite normal. Connection to Interactive Brokers which is hosted in HK is terrible - keeps dropping. |

Connection to UK VPN is nearly unusable .. packet loss and high pings
Hopefully they fix the international link soon - can't get much work done like this! |

Routing all traffic through a Singapore based VPN seems to avoid the issues caused by undersea cables. Connection to UK is acting as normal - slightly higher latency but no packet loss as before, success!

QUOTE(pakji @ Mar 15 2016, 10:05 PM) IP Vanish, is like $10 / month.Using SG server. Unifi connection is like shit without VPN (only one PC is running through it) , through VPN working perfectly. Getting 30mb down / 10mb up on speedtest - and most importantly good pings of around 250ms to my UK server with NO packet loss! |

QUOTE(tytung @ Mar 23 2016, 12:34 AM) Suddenly cannot connect to the web...but the three lights on the modem all yellow, no red. Diagnose says cannot reach DNS, anyone ? Tried changing DNS ? Can you ping 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.8.4?Also I'd be happy to pay RM300 for the TIME 500mb connection - unfortunately not much incentive for TM to compete as their coverage area is relatively small. But it's a step in the right direction - let's see what new plans TM comes out with! |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 23 2016, 12:16 PM) If my house is covered, I don't mind paying the RM 500 penalty fees and I heard from Time dealers, they will compensate it back to you. Me too - funny thing is the last 3 condos I stayed are all covered by TIME. Since having 2 dogs need to stay in landed, now no more coverage I wish, I really wish I'm living in a high rising building with Time coverage. I can't get rid of the dogs for faster broadband |

QUOTE(kyle_kon @ Mar 27 2016, 02:39 PM) Just upgraded from Vip5 to Advance Plan 30Mbps. When I perform a speedtest using wifi, I get around 10-13mbps of download speed. But when i perform the speed test using direct Ethernet cable connecting to home plug, I only get around 5mbps of download speed. Any idea why is this happening? Currenly using a Tp-Link router TL-WR841ND Have you tried directly to the router ? Homeplugs aren't really a good indication compared to a direct connection. |

I don't think TM will ever be able to compete with Time on price - a similar comparison would be comparing BT and Hyperoptic in the UK : one has to provide coverage for majority of households, another chooses which high rise buildings to enable and doesn't touch any landed properties!

QUOTE(calvinlaw510 @ Apr 1 2016, 07:23 PM) this time upgrade to 100mb TM will send technician to my house to change the BTU and router as officer told me my BTU and router provided by TM 4 years ago cannot support unifi pro... Yeah, they said the same about RG4 - not sure if by that they meant the router or the modem.Router I use my own anyway - modem of course the one provided by TM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 1 2016, 11:02 PM) Exactly - 20mb was probably sufficient , 50mb more than sufficient but can't resist when they offer 100mb.My office in London isn't on a fibre enabled street and that costs rm3k a month for 100mb! |

TM will apparently replace existing routers with RG4 - not sure about the modem
Will see when they call back next week. |
