I'm also interested in TM's response to this.. Based on the recent rollout of the Advance 30 & 50 plans. Numerous complaints about connection quality, poor routers, insufficient or problematic ports, etc... Its clear they either don't have a handle on it or don't care (money's on the latter). Can imagine how much more mess free-bumping everyone to TIME's new speeds will create. Have to replace a ton of hardware, while getting rid of the ones currently in stock. I think TM's best bet would be to significantly lower current prices, offer better and consistent services and introduce/match TIME's packages. A step further would be even cheaper prices than TIME.. Of course, these are just dreams...for now.. Reality? Eh... 

Yep.. All part of the hardware replacements.. I wonder how much doing such will cost and if it's even feasible..

Time using their own infra? Anyone has info on how different is it from TM on domestic infra & international backbone?

What I recalled was TM chose to deploy GPON instead of GEPON (at that time GPON was somewhat the logical choice), but just a year or 2 down the road, GPON became costlier & not so future-proof... Which translates to...... Higher subscription fees or lower speed or both

Not to mention TM invested heck a lot in international capacity... Otherwise our <100ms latency to Asia & sub 200ms latency (when the cables are working well) to the West wont be possible. Recent outage & we got a reminder of Streamyx days, relying on old links like SEA-ME-WE means blood-vomit latencies & capacity.

So, if TM did the big bucks, big job & IF Time just needs to work with high rise developers for their infra and then merely 'sambung' to TM's backend for a reasonable fee, it's easy to see why they can do what they are doing.

My take, I dont think TM will react to this in a big way, after all the landed-property market is virtually all theirs. Not even a flinch maybe. But we must push for it!!!

What means own infra? From cust premise all the way to border?

I mean, from customer premise, ie. high rise, they gali lubang, pull their own cables to their own local exchange, their own NOC, their own core network, build their own buildings, house their own equiptment & routers, their own international backbone from cable owner (assuming, not aware if Time has build their own cable).

Having their own backbone is one, every other thing on the way to the backbone is another...

Just trying to understand why they can bump up everyone's speed macam it doesnt cost them. So the cost must have been absorbed in a way or another somewhere unless we are concluding that TM are 110% cocks to charge us this much for this little (speed). Don't get me wrong, i do agree it's overpriced somewhat

From the ground up and floor to floor? Oh wow... Well, that settles it.. No way TM's going to do that..   Newer building constructions or future area roll-outs.. Perhaps...

However, in case they are actually listening.. Hey TM, we love surprises!! 
I must commend you on your extreme patience and optimism; hitting the compose button and firing off an email to TM's CS... Then only wait for a response  .. For me, its either via telephone or in person @ their office; depending on case severity.

Come, we laugh together now.. That's until we have to pay the next bill, while thinking how much cheaper or more service one could have gotten with the same amount on a different ISP...

Just called them to upgrade from 50Mb to 100Mb but only tomorrow can. Price is at RM299.

Guys, wanna ask. If im not satisfied with the 100Mb (slow or not getting the right speed), can I complaint to CFM to revert to my previous package?

Maybe you are using the old router with antenna. The new router does not have antenna and can support 5Ghxz & 2.4GHz frequency band. For longer distance you should use the 2.4GHz. My download speed always reach 52Mbps easily.
