Hi, I would like to find out if I subscribe for TM Autopay for my unifi account, will I be getting RM2 rebate monthly?

When I was a Streamyx subscriber, I used to get RM4 monthly rebate for TM Autopay (i.e. RM2 for each service, internet and voice).

How is the TM Autopay rebate like for Unifi?

I'm staying in Subang Jaya and am on Unifi 30MB package, using an ASUS RT-N12 D1 router.....

I noticed that these past few days, at night between 8pm to 12 am, internet connection has been rather erratic, whereby even a 240p Youtube being streamed, has buffering issues.

Anyone here staying in Subang Jaya on Unifi, experiencing the same issues? Thanks.

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Feb 17 2016, 08:51 AM)
the dns already around 3-4 years.... but one year ago they push and force all of us to use that dns as primary....dunno how it happen even we setting primary and secondary dns on router, it will appear on primary dns as 1.9.1.9 on router status...

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 17 2016, 09:28 AM)
1.9.1.9 is already for years, I have seen it on my sister's Streamyx earlier. smile.gif

QUOTE(kebeckham7 @ Feb 17 2016, 01:05 PM)
yeah tm start with streamyx first. happen to me i think a year ago, the web browser popup from tm asking us to change dns
*
Yeah, 1.9.1.9, I'm aware of. It used to be paired with one of the older 202.188.x.x DNS. Didn't realise until yesterday that TM was also handing out 8.8.8.8.

8.8.8.8 as one of the default DNS might not sit well with anti-google privacy activists.

And how will TM comply with MCMC website blocks? For example: if you "dig" sarawakreport.org, you'll get 2 different results from 1.9.1.9 & 8.8.8.8. TM subtly subverting the establishment? Championing our Internet freedom rights?

Guys, I just installed unifi today and speedtest shows that i am capped at 8 mbps.

UPDATE: Solved now, speedtest shows 30mbps ( rclxm9.gif ) seems to be a QOS glitch when my router was used with my old 8 mbps connection.

TM called me again and trying to pursuade me to take up th 30/10 package for RM179 + Ruby package .... No change in existing hardware but will have warranty coverage renewed on the old hardwares whereby if rosak, they will honoured the replacement. Mind you my current vip5 package is more than 3 years already. Can take or wait for something better to come up?

Nope, not private IP. One of my customers on Unifi fixed IP also using 1.x.x.x.

Hi guys, just upgraded to Unifi advance 30mbps. However, the Wireless router given by TM can only reach about 21mbps only. (combined g/n mode)  it's a L7 TM router. When tested with LAN, can get 30mbps. Do i have to buy new router or is there anything i can set in L7 router to increase the output?
*

Both my parents like to watch Youtube by ipad, so the only way for me to get 30mbps is to get a new router?
*

can u recommend any good ones? budget 200
*
As many have suggested here, what you need is a new router especially if you want QOS or device bandwidth limit features.

Personally I'd recommend Mikrotik since that's what I use. The RB951Ui-2HnD is RM300. It's over your budget by RM100 but well worth the features. I'm sure other brands such as TPLink, Asus and DLink have routers with similar features too.

With regards to bandwidth, I'm actually in a similar situation as you. However in my case, it's my kids who are on Youtube sucking up bandwidth all the time. A single iPad can easily use up to 30mbps of traffic all by itself when buffering a video.

There're 2 ways to approach it, QOS based on ports. eg: higher priority to gaming ports or whatever boils your kettle. Two, limit each devices' bandwidth. I use number 2. It's easier to setup and works for everything including torrents. For example: I have 4 iPads in the house. If I allocate 2mbps to each of them, I'll still have 22mbps for myself. If none of the devices are in use then I'll have the full 30mbps. If you need more bandwidth you can just allocate less to the other devices. Youtube, for example, is watchable even if limited to 512kbps.

You can also do both if you like.
