yaloh... i booked mid-spec oredi... but if interior got much more soft touch.. leather bits.. i might upgrade...
*
I have not seen midspec in person as the showroom I went had only the hi spec & low spec only at that point of time. Just my opinion, the low spec interior is equally nice compared to the hi spec. Of course, the leather trims in the hi spec has been replaced with cloth material.

In regards of soft touch, the ones in the low spec seems to be in the same places as the hi spec ones. Through my observation, i don't think hi spec has any extra soft touch trims.

Just went to see The Civic. I got the chance to explore the car. So here is my findings:

1) Interior quality, fit and finish is on par with Mazda cars. Feels expensive and upscale. Premium and Midspec has the same finishes ( leather seats and brush metal garnish). The only differences are exterior features, Navi, and dual zone ac. All variants got leather wrap steering wheel and leather wrap shift knob, but 1.8 comes with fabric seat and different texture metal garnish on dashboard. The rest is totally the same.

2) The seat is comfortable, very low and sporty seating position. From the back, you can feel the interior is very spacious, its almost an Accord in term of size. Compare to US, centre console is not as deep because need to allow for aircond shaft to pass through for rear ac.

3) The bootspace is quite spacious, wide and deep. Unfortunately all 3 variants can't fold the seat. We don't have 60/40 split feature! From the boot, it seams that there is a stabilizer strut that ties the chassis. According to SA to make the car more rigid for better handling/cornering.

4) Rain sensing wipers and auto dimming mirror come standard for Premium and midspec.

I can say, if you don't mind the led headlights and Turbo engine, one will be satisfied with 1.8 NA. Really not much different.

Didnt managed to test drive coz i think they said the car is not registered at JPJ yet.

Very polarizing opinion on its power. Some said its soft turbo and no feel while going full beans. Others who had mainly driven it says its really quick off the line and feels effortless in getting up to speed.

With 8 sec 0-100, i think it cant be 'slow'. Will report once i get the car this month.
*
I think its due to the linearity of cvt that causes the "no feel". Cvt is known to have this attribute all the while. I believe the civic will be generally effortless despite different opinions. Each to their own. Anyway,we'll wait for your review. biggrin.gif

Only when it's driven hard.  The electric fan stays on even after ignition is cut and you lock the car and walk away.  Hopefully Honda follows this engineering hack by the Germans.

My preve cfe is capable of that as well. So i hope we can expect the same from this civic.

I did rev the car by downshifting via paddle shift. Engine noise from inside still acceptable and it sounds great to me. Lol.

The area behind the door handle gets most if not all of its scratches from air vortices during car movement carrying dust and sand particles, not from fingernail scratches.
*
Thanks for the info. That is something new to me. I took example from my mum's car vs mine. As I am very particular about scratches on my car so i tend to be very careful whenever i open my car door. My mum's car had a lot of scratches on that area whereas mine had almost none. Maybe one or two only. Anyway, I still believe most of the scratches are from fingernail scratches.

the third brake light yala LED..

can give me link to the specs?

i can't be certain because my leg is not long enuf to press the brake pedal and look from the back. =P
*
Not sure how to explain this but here goes. The tail lamps are combination of led and bulbs. The bulbs are for brake, reverse and signal. The led is for the illumination only (turn on together with headlamp). So when you press the brake pedal, it's the bulb that lights up.
