went to settle my downpayment and loan today and got a chance to drive the 1.5T-P..

my 2 cents. (my last car was a ford).
1. rear windscreen is small.. hard to see leh.. but i've never driven a car with a reverse camera before so i guess its all about getting used to. (for reversing into a car park).
2. interior quality quite good as most touch-points are soft plastic. have to say though the soft materials don't go quite as deep as the likes in contis.. (im comparing vw and not bmw/benz/audi).. 1 gripe.. How expensive is it to include soft touch material on the top part of the instrument cluster!?
3. car is actually quite long i guess the designers did a good job to hide that long end as i couldn't really tell from the pictures until i saw it in person.
4. brakes very makan.. something i'll need to get used to again.
5. The power - Yes.. the 1 sec lag. not sure if its turbo or the cvt but its obvious from pick up. but after the initial lag i have to say for city driving you can get up to speeds quickly even with a light foot.
6. The steering - nice to hold... but too light during low speeds.. again not complaining but no chance to test out on highway to see if the steering gets heavier. i like my ford better
7. The handling - can't tell cuz drive was too short but suspension feels softer than a mazda 3
8. NVH - only tested @ 70KMh.. but very little road noise. engine noise at that speed also low cuz was hovering between 1.5-2k rpm onli.
9. instrument panel - looks great!! but looks like its angled.. im 167cm and it feels odd sometimes.
question though..
the dealer gave me winshield tint and says its from their authorized panel. but i've seen some postings that if its not 3M or ecotint and something happens to the power windows. HM will void your warrranty.. any truth in that?
