Hi guys, any where I could test drive the Civic 1.8 ? I only managed to test drive the 1.5T which I really enjoyed the comfort and power together. However I am more keen on the 1.8 as I have lower budget and also do not want to bear the higher maintenance cost of Turbo engine and parts in long term. I am fine with the leather seats in the 1.5T and asked if I could upgrade my fabric seats to leather for 1.8, I was told I have to pay RM 3K for the upgrade. I think I may go for it as the leather feeling is more premium and easier for maintenance.

I managed to test drive Honda HRV before this, I was told the Civic 1.8 is the same power feeling as Honda HRV as using same engine and gear box. What do you guys think about it ? About NVH, is the Civic 1.8 same level with 1.5T ? I felt that the 1.5T engine was slightly loud and noisy when rev, however when driving in city with lower speed, it was quiet to my feeling, not sure if the 1.8 one is quieter ?

Maintenance Minder is not really using sensors - it's calculated using your driving conditions (short trips, frequent starting and stopping, and hilly terrain) that may push necessary maintenance up to shorter mileage intervals - so your dirty sensor claims is invalid. When your Maintenance Minder service is triggered, usually the oil life still has 1,500KM left - choose the Wrench option to see the oil life balance left. You can schedule a service immediately, but estimate when it'll be close to 0KM left when you do the service.

You can also opt to group the servicing together (oil change + periodic maintenance), or just do the oil change (A) / oil + filter change (B) if you want. Anyway, it's the fault of your Honda Sales Agent, not really Honda since they didn't explain to you. I understand most of the Civic owners already know about this before they even booked the car.
