Not to stand at any side , Maxis Celcom Digi or whatsoever,

I believe every company have the right to have their own marketing and pricing strategy right?

Just like fashion, you can buy cheap clothes @ RM 50 for 3 T shirt at Brand outlet, but 1 little cloth with same design might cost you RM200 at branded shop.

No point to complaint and spam their Facebook or twitter, the only reason why I see you guys doing this is just to admit their network is good, so you wish they are cutting their price so you might port in and use their service back.

But from my friends who working at Maxis told me earlier, their management not intended to involve in this price war at all...

Nevertheless, I agree Maxis pricing is at the high side compare to the others like Celcom, Digi tongue.gif

Really?

I am currently using Maxis, Celcom and Digi, and from my experience, Maxis line is the best, then follow by Celcom or Digi

My hometown located at at small kampung/pekan at Johor, and as of now only Maxis having 4G overt there, while Celcom and Digi is 3G only,

so no complaint for Maxis so far for their network tongue.gif

I have 3 more months before my contract expires. Hello Celcom!!! I can't wait for that moment.. Bye Maxis
*
But the Celcom 5GB+5GB plan is until end of March and Digi 75 plan is until end of Feb only.

After 3 months both plan will say Bye to you

Those who registered before the promotion ends, will stay with the plan forever unless the change to different plan / different telco
The promotion period is to provide you with a final date to join

I mean he/she want to port out and join the Digi or Celcom promo plan after his/her Maxis contract expired in 3 months time. But after 3 months both plan already no longer available for new sign up

I am sorry to say altough Maxis line is expensive, but Celcom line was really suck at my hometown...

I back to my hometown for CNY celebration now, I manage to get H+ signal but the page/browser just doesnt move at all.. speedtest results 0.2-0.3mbps..

Luckily I still have Maxis prepaid sim (Hotlink) with me, I manage to get 4G and the speed is awsome.. perhap, too many Maxis users are ported out and line was not congested now..

It is hard for me to admit Maxis line was awsome at my hometown now for this 1 week CNY celebration...

But hopefully they will do some changes to introduce some better price postpaid plan in the future..

For me, both line quality and price are equally important for me

Just having a dinner with my friend working at Maxis HQ management team and back to home now...

I guess maybe for those who are hoping Maxis will call you back when port out or Maxis will come out with better plan.. can stop dreaming about this

The info below might sound irritating for some of you ( Insider info)

1) Maxis management do not have any intention to involve in this price war at all, they will keep their current plan with focus more the network quality

2) For those using the port out as method and hoping for their retention unit will call back and offering some better plan, make sure your monthly usage is more than RM200 and with Maxis with at least few years and with good payment record, otherwise, they wont call and retain you, dont waste your time

3) For the news they are losing customer in recent business quarter, yes, it is true, but still, Maxis revenue is growing instead of dropping, they "purposely" do it to let go those low usage customer, and their focus will be for those with high monthly usage. As of now, they still have around 700K customer who is using Maxis One Plan, and those will be the customer they wish to retain in their profile. My friend did mentioned me sometimes like ARPU or ARPH thing, if not mistaken the ARPU is average usage per user, for more details you may ask your accountant's friend, I not sure what is that in details

4) Overall, Maxis focus in 2016 will be better network, they are the telco spending the highest cost to expand their 4G LTE network in the past 1 year compare to Digi, Celcom and Umobile, and also focus on hight ARPU/ ARPH customer with better profile

That is all I know as of now.... Just for sharing, TQ sweat.gif

The only thing I can say is, their target market is different from Digi and Celcom now..

but my colleague on surfmore 50 (after calls/sms, monthly just RM60-70 bills), change to Digi, Maxis also call him the next day, ask whether he will continue do use Maxis if they can give better offer... he straight told Maxis personnel, no need... because he is now on RM75 7GB Digi plan

I think is true Maxis only focus on higher monthly usage peoples, such as corporate one, because some of my friends their corporate line all is Maxis... Maxis give better services to corporate users i feel...

Maybe your friend is with Maxis for many years, and the payment record is on time every month, and they might call as well for this group of customer (stable income source) rclxms.gif

QUOTE(ryansxs @ Feb 13 2016, 11:23 PM)
Revenue = Total number of users x ARPU
In simple calculation, despite drop in total number of users, ARPU remains high, therefore your revenue is still up there. At the short run, yes it sounds great. But in a long run, losing customers are something that in telco we try to avoid.
Now retaining high ARPU customers are not easy. They are demanding and smart at the same time. You network got to be top notch. Frankly speaking, all telcos are trying their best. The demand for data is so high that telcos are struggling to keep up with ever growing volume of data.
They (Maxis) is seeing the user drop trend, they will have counter strategy to retain customers or reduce the churn rate. How? Reduce price or offer better deal for their loyal customer.
Maxis not in the price game? Well all telcos around in other countries eventually will get into this game. Simply ask a question, if you need to cut on your monthly expenses, which expenditure you will willing to cut?

Before MNP was introduced, telco can be "safe" in maintaining their price irrespective to their competitors. How many of use willing to change our phone numbers? MNP was in fact was introduced to give freedom to the users to opt for the best. In term of money value.

Network quality now is very very subjective. Not even one telco in Malaysia can 100% say their network is the best. Some provider have great speed in one place, but suck in the other. Those who has their office/home and the speed is great, they will claim that particular telco is the best. But check all area (drive test) and youll find the real % of coverage and capacity of network. And no telco ever want to reveal this real drive test result. They just "claim" their coverage is such and such.

Maxis has been doing alots of changes since the new CEO (ML) took the office. Of coz as a CEO, his prime objective is numbers. In current state of economy, adaptation to users needs is very important to keep you in the business.

I do agree with your point, but as per what my friend told me, Maxis board of director just had the meeting with their heads and CEO last week,
and this is their current decision to not introduce any similar plan like Digi or Celcom.. what to do sad.gif

how can i be offered with that? I was in surftmore 5gb but since they have 2+2gb free, i downgraded to 2gb. Now that the promo is gone, im think to switch to celcom since I cant really survive with only 2gb, as they no longer offer 5gb rm75 surftmore
*
If you seldom make call, can maintain the surfmore 50 plan with monthly add on 1GB @ RM15. So every month pay for RM65 you will get 3GB data
