Grab loves me lol

You’ve been selected to enjoy RM85 off rides from 8th - 11th September 2017. First, book a ride with the promo code 4HPH to enjoy RM4 off x 1 Grab ride. After that, you’ll unlock a higher value promo code for RM9 off x 9 Grab rides.

Grab trying to be smart ass here. They make things complicated for the average Joe, end up not many going to apply that promo code and might get frustrated instead. You also have to manually enter the code to apply it, making it clunky to use their app. Uber otherwise is just straight forward and feels comfortable using their app. If want to give promo, then just give it out. dont make it difficult for user to apply their code, chinaman mentality, want to give code but kiasu

No kidding. On top of having to manually enter codes EACH TIME one needs to book a ride, he or she also has to contend with the codes not working (MOST OF THE TIME) or expiring early! Uber, one just needs to apply the promo code once and it works until it expires...

I used to be a fan of Grab, but its latest policies and actions have caused me to gravitate more towards Uber.  bangwall.gif

How sad.  bye.gif

Yeah, I compare fares every time i use a ride, and it is really clunky and takes more time to find the code in their notification, apply it then selecting it!

If you want to be able to get the promo code, its pretty simple.

Make sure your rating is high, to be safe, keep it above 4.5 because that is where I suppose ~10%-20% of Uber's passenger makes up 80% of the rides and revenue. Make sure your average cost per ride is >RM6 to get that RM6 coupon, and >RM10 to get that RM10 coupon. You get the idea.

These are some of the metrics their analyst and marketeers use when considering who to give out coupons.

U are wrong, Grab pricing is higher than Uber nowadays. And Grab driver is getting lesser comparing to few months ago, peak hour wait is much longer than before.
*
Mind to share location where you experience long wait and high fare? This two usually correlates with each other highly. Even for Uber. But depends on location and time of day

grab is very smart one . end of the day, riders and drivers are losing party

driver is lesser, so the remaining driver need to travel far abit to pick up
driver is lesser, so riders need to wait longer, and fare is higher

Uber, i dont comment as i dont drive uber.
but that must be a reason why the drivers numbers is reducing even faster..

in long term, drivers dont expect grab/uber will be paying more incentive/top up, and rider dont expect more promo...
just my opinion...
*
Same question as previous user. Mind to share location and time you experience this?

This. THIS. Exactly what I've been saying to all the naysayers.

Sure, it doesn't help not to have a car when you're traveling outstation. As it is often the case, there's no one size fits all. You either do or you don't.

Here's to Uber and Grab for a long and prosperous stay. (Don't skimp on the codes please!  rclxms.gif )
*
the logic holds true until grab/uber stops subsidizing your ride, and also that you dont utilize your car much and you are a single rider and not the owner of a 4 seater sedan.

what constitutes a properly utilized car? just refer to the warranty cover for maximum mileage within 3 or 5 years, depending on model and make. for example, Honda gives warranty up to 5 years or 100,000km. if you only able to cover 40,000km within 5 years, you are better off not buying the car and take public transport instead. different people, different preference bro.

taking public transportation makes sense for single traveller. owning a car makes more sense for a small family of 2 or more. a student owning a car just to go to school... makes no financial sense for owning a car. plus it also reduces the amount of loans they can borrow from the bank for property.

Last night around 10pm a 4 mins ride (1km) cost me RM10 after applying GRABTNG code, with reason of high demand. Grab has became a hungry crocodile lately.

A metered taxi won't cost that much since the fare is regulated (for 1km distance, before 12am).

It is time for relevant authorities come to the ground and work to regulate the private e-hailing service here.
*
already can see the fare is RM10 yet you still take it. why are you announcing the world your stupidity?

This is like asking people to move on to another mamak due to this particular mamak charge RM10 for a cup of plain water.

A friend of mine saying that in fact there are a lot of drivers around a particular area, just that they turn off the service and sit in the car waiting for the artificial floating rate maliciously push up by them because they know how the system work. Some drivers even work for the two companies simultaneously and switching between the services on and off regularly. Not sure whether these are true?

i do not go to a mamak that charges rm10 for a cup of plain water, i wonder why you do that
