Using http instead of https seems to work. But some browsers do not allow unsecured elements on a secure page...

Maybe it's some kind of https misconfiguration on imgur's side.

Nah they'll more likely face legal problems if they adopt the design as it is. This is why game companies actively discourage fans from creating original game/character designs based on their IP.
