My son is hitting 3yo this July, but he's been in kindergarden/day care since beginning of the year. We all struggled (My son, wife and me) and it was a horrible experience. For the first 2 weeks he was crying all day and night saying "I don't want", not willing to go to school and all. Got to know from the teachers that he's not used to the new environment and there were many other kids there which he's not familiar with.
But when me and wife checked with the teachers again this week, he's doing great at school, learning to scrible and play bricks with the kids... And I heard from wife that, the teachers noticed girls like to hang out with him, like all of the girls from the whole school... Now that really give me mix feelings... hahaha... But I'm really glad he can mingle around well now at school. Only problem is, he still has his morning crankiness which refuse to eat and "can't wake up" kind of attitude. |

QUOTE(3antz @ Feb 19 2016, 02:18 PM) thanks for the tips ... officially going to be a daddy new week. Mixed emotions, excitement, fear ... a long laundry list. Yes I think Yuyi oil is mostly used by Chinese, i freaking love the smell too! What is minyak telon ah? Is it Yu Yi oil? I believe Minyak Telon is about the same function, to keep baby warm after bath and sooth stomach bloats. |

QUOTE(wai1460 @ Feb 24 2016, 12:05 PM) Have you guys experienced your child will have such symptoms like growing pains? I notice my boy do sometimes wake up and cry for no reason also. Sometimes he would say pain somewhere here and there, but without being beaten or fall down or any other injury. Probably this is the case of the growth spurt? It did happen to my daughter(3 years old)previously, claim that she having pain on the leg in the middle of the night. At daytime, she is ok ( can run/jump without pain ). I have seek doctors for advice and it seems couldn't find out the reason. She is a premature baby (32 weeks) and currently she is a healthy girl. |

QUOTE(panda-man @ Feb 25 2016, 04:59 PM) not bad. but if for studying can consider many european countries which have free education and you support cost of livign only? many kids may consider leaving country for education, just to 'grow' and be 'independent' which i think is good. if you emmigrate there for education and that happens then dunno lah heheh. i think better to focus on living standard. never been to NZ so cant comment. but i didnt really like AUS. but NZ really looks beautiful. get them to work hard for scholarship I've been to Sydney only and I love that place. Beautiful, clean and not too hectic.NZ has always been on my "must visit" list and I know some relatives living there and they are REALLY enjoying life there. Me and my wife has been talking about migrating a lot these days, to either AUS or NZ, but those are just dreams at the moment which we will need to do a lot more to achieve. Really not that easy in terms of dollars and cents (sense as well)... The alternate plan would be to get our kids over to study, and pray that they would succeed in life, then probably we would have more chances to head to those places for "holidays"... So just have faith and pray hard la... HAHAHA |

QUOTE(panda-man @ Mar 11 2016, 10:16 AM) thanks, My my... glad to hear that bro...the stomach flu seems to be bacterial and airborne, the doc said 'very contagious' so if another kid has it or an adult (we assumed my wife caught it first, but mild form) then its easily transferable, so need to keep hands and food clean. symptoms for my son were sudden excessive vomiting. from 6am-10am my son vomited maybe like 10+ times. just vomiting stomach acid i guess as he didnt have any food, i guess the tummy is trying to purge whatever bacteria in the stomach. took him to the clinic and got referred as that amount of vomiting requires drip to prevent dehydration. so went to hospital to his ped and got admitted and on the drip. he couldnt eat or drink anything for a day. just would vomit everything back up, sometimes just look at food and would vomit. but after being on drip for 2 days he started eating normally again in more feedings and smaller portions. just got discharged yesterday afternoon. but still grumpy and tiring for all of us. but so kesian see him walking aroudn with the drip. after we took it off, ran like the wind hahahah. Geezz....all kind of bacteria and virus lurking around now... Have to keep clean and keep washing hands. |

QUOTE(MoonRider @ Mar 15 2016, 02:46 PM) earning less doesnt mean you are failure.. at least you got kids.. I'm in IT field and Work/Life balance is totally off the hook... Too far to reach sometimes...is not easy to get work life balance job.. unless you are IT field.. you might want to survey for migration .. But you see, sometimes in life is all about give and take... You take More, you do MORE. You take less, maybe you'll need to do less... Of Cause sometimes in life you can see some I know I'm long winded and totally off the topic, but I point being, just try to be happy and feel satisfied in life, look at the goods and bad to balance your emotions *Note to Self!* Any how, just do our best, and have faith, work hard and smart, climb the ladder one steps at a time and always stay hungry for chances/opportunity. Try not to stay in your comfort zone for too long and move on! Cheers. |

And on another note... how do you feed those liquid medicine to your toddler of 3 yo?
We were in war zone when we tried to force him to drink the 6ml of liquid anti-biotics (he got some awful fever for 3 days due to viral/bacteria infection) |

QUOTE(MoonRider @ Mar 17 2016, 11:27 AM) i am using somthing like spilly spoon (you can google) to feed my kids for medicine.. sometimes i mix with ribena (little bit) Thanks for the advise guys!I actually tried the brutal method but he just spit it all out and cried like there's no tomorrow. So in the end we just buy some Vitagen and it worked! Just mix the 1 part medicine with 1.5part Vitagen and voila! |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Apr 5 2016, 04:26 PM) I know it's kinda off topic, but recent researches shown that Cholesterol and fat is not the culprit to blame for getting fat, but Carbohydrate is to be blame.I actually munch on fats and protein and vege for the pass year and I lost 20 odd KG of body fat. Back to the actual topic, my almost 2 month old daughter recently sometimes vomit or have some milk spit out awhile after feeding (probably 5 to 10 minutes after each feed if lay down), and she's very hard to be burped... Any tips? We tried burping here for 2 or 3 times, probably take 15 minutes, but still sometimes she still vomit. I read it's that it could be overfed, but she sometimes just wants more than 1 side of the (.)(.), like not full enough... weird... |

So speaking of fatherhood, how you guys juggle between Family, Work, and Health?
Do you all hit the Gym, or do any form of sports? I personally just resume back my Cycling, starting to do a bit of running since I lost some weight. Trying to be healthier and aiming to achieve something, like completing a century ride, or finishing a Duathlon in the future. I probably want to quit my gym as I find it pretty hard to train as of now as hardly have a good night sleep, or if I train in the evening I would be too tired/Hot to sleep at night since body is still burningly active... Probably need to wake up earlier to cycle or run in the morning (hope I can do it!) instead of in the evening time. So what you guys do to stay active and healthy? |

QUOTE(MoonRider @ Apr 19 2016, 01:56 PM) for me only family and work ... I guess it's not as easy as being "lucky". I needed to make a lot of arrangements to have my own healthy time.my company got gym also i didnt go start work at 5.30am finish around 2.30pm .. most of the time teaching kids do homework, fetching kids, play betta fish and board games .. you lucky you still got time for your ownself .. Sometimes I would actually go to the extend to ask parents or parents in law for help to take care of the kids and drag my wife out for some alone time or exercise, to get the sanity back. haha |
