MAKLUMAT KORPORAT

Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) ialah anak syarikat milik penuh Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) yang ditubuhkan pada 22 Mei 1979 untuk mengurus dana-dana unit amanah yang dilancarkan oleh PNB. ASNB juga bertanggungjawab untuk mendidik para pelabur mengenai faedah melabur dalam unit amanah melalui penganjuran seminar perancangan kewangan atau lebih dikenali sebagai Seminar 360, pada setiap hari di seluruh negara. Sejak pelancaran unit sulungnya Sekim Amanah Saham Nasional (ASN) pada 20 April 1981, PNB telah melancarkan sepuluh dana unit amanah yang lain iaitu Skim Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB), Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020), Amanah Saham Nasional 2 (ASN 2), Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM), Amanah Saham Didik (ASD), Amanah Saham Nasional 3 Imbang (ASN 3), Amanah Saham Gemilang (ASG-Pendidikan, ASG-Kesihatan & ASG-Persaraan), Amanah Saham 1Malaysia (AS 1M) dan yang terbaru Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB 2). Daripada 12 dana unit amanah ini, enam daripadanya ialah dana ekuiti berharga tetap, manakala selebihnya ialah dana ekuiti harga berubah-ubah yang merupakan dana-dana pendapatan, pertumbuhan dan seimbang.

1 - I am a non-bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?

You miss the so called golden chance which is happening on 2015 JUNE - OCTOBER, regarding our top picked FIXED PRICED FUNDS. Those were the time where people top up and the success rate is almost 100% (any amount), as well as opening up a new account. However, for now, the chances is still there, but try little bit more harder and the units will be lesser and lesser in coming weeks or months. Well, its also depend on various factor such as world markets, commodities prices and some "national issues". For those who having any account on Fixed Price Funds, you can keep trying to top up with no guarantee you able to get additional units. Next, for those who having higher risk appetite, Variable Price Funds, ASG, and ASN3. Currently only have this two option for you. Now in laymen term, the prices are low, if you have a brave heart, can try it. ASG Pesaraan. Once ROI around 15% but when the chance or interpreted the market wrongly end up ROI will be around 3.5% or negative value VP funds can be fun if the timing is correct. But there will be some platform give better experiences such as FSM, but I myself haven't try it. But people say its good.

2 - I am a bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?

Follow this order, you will never go wrong. ASB - ASB 2 - ASW2020 - ASM - ASD - AS1M.

3 - Any online transection allow?

Yes, one of them is m2u and CIMB Clicks. But currently CIMB having some problems as you cant merge account due to system upgrades by ASNB. M2U for non bumiputera is AS1M, but each and every transection need processing fees of MYR 1.06.

4 - EPF?

Yes. But details need an expert to explain it.

5 - Where can I buy the unit?

Agents. Pos MY, MBB, RHB, CIMB. And ASNB office as well. Newly added will be Affin Banks, BSN, Alliance Banks. But the service provided will be varies.

6 - Best time to buy?

No specific time but, most people do say that. Before any big festive sessions, school reopen and any occasion that need money. However, you don't know when people do need those money.

8. How much can I top up per day?(CASH)

50000 MYR per day for all types of products. Meaning, the limit will impose on an account number. (I guess this is the reason they upgrading their system.)

Flash Facts

- If there is no units available, you will never ever able to purchase new units or opening up a new account.

- To open up an account, you need 100 MYR.

- To top up, minimum value shall at 1.00 MYR.

- When opening up an account, can choose any of the three FP, they actually act the same just subject to availability.

- To top up any amount also acceptable, but just above 1.00 MYR.

- Regarding the date to top up, its up to you. I don't wish to explain this further.

- Funds can be top up via CIMB and MBB, online. However, for non bumi, the only available for online purchase will be AS1M. There will no specific limit, but still subject to availability.

- For non bumi, try opening up FP first.

Of course you CAN'T invest fully in 1 method only. FD is the best among all when it come to risk. Thus, don't put all eggs in 1 basket. Diversify it.
And see things do happen like now. Crude oil, flood, all affecting nation as well as MY will affecting the BURSA and thus ASG.

Yes, @Vincent9696 Couple of years ago PNB still allow max loan up to 400k so when my dividend touch 200k, I moved it to ASB 2 and fill the gap with another 200k making it 400k loan. At the same time, that 200k moved to ASB2 will also earn me about 14-15k, which makes the yearly total dividend on 600k amounting to 37k (ASB) + 15k (ASB2) = 52k per year.

Not without cost though, the loan costs me 2.2k per month for a yearly total of 26.4k. So actually, as it stands now, i'm only earning a clean 25.6k. Of course this figure will only get higher as the dividend compounds but the monthly payments are fixed at 2.2k

My next step is to get the ASB2 loan and move the 200k to ASD or some other fund so that interest will be on 1 Million (counting the earned compunded interest in the book)

So for those who are still on the fence, get the loan, and start as early as possible!

Lets say you have a bumi friend who wants to invest but she said she has no money. U yourself is non bumi. She said u use her name and u keep the passbook but dividen share half half is that workable

That is doable. If you can trust that person. What happen if the person act dumb and say you never give me any money? I am not even sure a B&W can cut it.

Lucky that ASB loan is relatively low risk tho. It has no lock in period and if it gets too hot to handle, say BR increases or dividends take a slump, can terminate anytime and collect back the ammortized amount.

I'm riding this ASB loan thing to achieve my target of 1 million in cold hard cash as quickly as possible. Most people will be multi millionaires on paper, (especially with property prices this last few years) but I want Cash money! Cash is King ma... heheh Altho 1M seems very little taking into account inflation and what not. Hmmm might need to revise the target

ASB2 maxed already bro... transferred from the dividend of ASB. After this taking ASB2 loan and buying ASW2020 (if can get) otherwise ASD.

I attended the ASNB Seminar in IOI Resort City last Saturday. Here the sharing of my observation:

1. Less than 5% non bumi attendees.

2. There were 2 presentations - Malaysia Market Outlook and Hibah/Pengisytiharan Amanah.

3. The market outlook presentation is better than those presentations in FSM. The presenter is from macro research unit and with PhD title. The content is in English and well organized. Entire session was conducted by mixed of Malay and English.

4. I guess the mind of audiences were not with economy. None of ASNB staff in the room have the answer for it. The rest of questions were also around "unhappy about dividends".

5. About hibah/pengisythiharan Amanah, one important info I learned from there, which Amanah will transfer all the units to the beneficiary in units, whereas, for non Amanah wills, they release in cash.

I think, I will attend their future seminars if I will be invited again. The buffet lunch was damn good!

The one in my town will be in Q2 this year. Will invite myself by calling them if I don't get an invite a week before the seminar. Sounds rather desperate? Ha.

Amanah will and non Amanah will? Care to clarify?

ASNB has a product of Hibah Amanah for Muslims and Pengisytiharan Amanah for non Muslims. They collect RM190 one time fee for all units of all products of the person has in ASNB. The execution fee is about 0.6% for the first 1 million, and subsequent is a bit lower. The withdrawal takes less than 21 days. Other wills, may take months to year.

Other wills means any withdrawal from a decease's account is not going through either hibah/penisytiharan Amanah.

I asked this question specifically in the room - they answered firmly, ONLY Amanah they will transfer the units. They will open the account if the beneficiary has no account.

For other wills, they will sell the units and give the beneficiary in cash.

The presenter even explained to those bumi audiences about why I asked this question - for the reason of non bumi are not easy to buy the units. Some beneficiaries like to continue keeping the units. Amanah is the best way of ensuring their units are not sold.

tried luck at RHB bank but crazy long queue.. guess bumi also learnt to transact on the 1st of every month to maximize dividends... only tried ASM without success and decided not to try AS1M and ASW as the staff was obviously impatient with long queue of people waiting for their turn.

Asw didnt try , as1m got unit... Just saw van bergerak in zon selatan today... Sad case is cant top up , only able to update passbook and initial investment.

Updated my passbook last Friday, still kinda puzzled why my calculation was waay out from the real dividend received. tak sampai pun 15k!!

You sure your calculations correct? Dividends are only given for the lowest value of the month.

There might be some confusion and or misunderstanding. ASNB's pengisytiharan amanah (PA) does pay the beneficiary in terms of units and not merely cash. Cash is only paid out if the receiver is not eligible to open an account with ASNB because you can "gift" your units to foreigners; in fact you can gift your units to anyone you like

Is the ASM convertion to new passbook mandatory (like if you give them old book to update, they will issue new book automatically) and is it free of charge? What about ASW?

Oh btw, I think the TS can update the first page about online transaction. It's not just Maybank and CIMB, it also available on RHB and Affin.

Without new book ,you cannot do any transaction for both ASM and asw. Yes changing of book is FOC.

Newbie in ASM. From Oct 2015 - Jan 2016, managed to open ASM account; and topup 150K into ASM with lesser than 10 attempts. Feel like ASM tak laku.

Luckily I pull out from ASG last week. KLCI now under performed already and started to goyang due to some national issues. Recovery in half year? I doubt.

Perhaps you can follow my tactic to topup ASX. Usually i will leave my saving passbook with teller at 10am. And request them to keep attempt topup ASM till 3pm. They will call me once they done ASM topup. It save my time and increase my chances to success topup ASM.

In my past experience topup ASM in MayBank. I have been challenged by teller 2 times on Oct 2015."How much you want to topup ASM? 100K? 200K? Any amount ASM pun ada".

Anyway the highest ASM amount I manage to opup is 50K. 2 kali.

Just transfer money from my saving account la..Showing my saving passbook to them is just wanted to show them i got money buy the ASM. bukan main main.

If you are priority customer with good relationship with the bank, you can do that. Leave the book there, come back at the end of the day to sign all the necessary withdraw documents.

Oh i tot u mean the amanah saham branch. Sorry misread. Because maybank private banking, u ask them they always say full but asnb branch still have. Maybank the relationship manager keep asking u to buy their own inhouse unit trust
