Dear all,

I am doing sole proprietor own small business.

I don't have any accounting background.

I want to ask.....

Where can I attend any class that teach accounting so that I can do my bookkeeping and accounting entries to my accounting system?

I really don't understand about Debit, Credit, Journal, chart of account, Drawing etc.

If anyone know where training centre offer this course or class or workshop, please let me know.

Thank you very much.

prepare 2 pcs of USB voice recorders(prefer 50m high definition, taobao got sell)....in my view, the steps(sequence) of doing the account is important..

Thank you for your reply.

I am not looking for this kind of course.

I am looking for like 2 days training class or 5 days training class.

Need to do my own accounting entries for my business.

Thank you.

If u buy a system like ubs, u dun even need much to know bout accounting. As retail business more or less have same kind of debit and credit, you just need to know where to key in your input, system automatic generate income statement, p/l statement n balance sheet.

I think this is wad u are looking for. Learn the system..no people use hand and draw n write. All system integrate

I doubt you can learn accounts in 2 days.

Even if you bought the account software you will get confuse unless you know the debit/credit, income/expense and asset/liability which then generate the profit n loss and balance sheet.

and don't forget you got to do the tax part as well.

If using software, just need to key in the sales and purchase, cash, bank in, payment etc. accordingly, the software will do the posting itself.

You just need to do the data entry needed or as told by the software, it doesn't need strong accounting background in order to use the software.

You just click the generate button, then P&L figure come out already.

Maybe it's easy. Maybe it's not.

Software only helps to a certain extent. The good thing is the accounts is always balanced.

TS, go try the software demo, i think they allows you to use up to 500 transaction.

Thank you for all your replies.

Yes, I know that there is no way to learn accounting in 2 days or 5 days course.

What I am looking for is just a basic accounting knowledge course to know all the terms in accounting.

Now looking for accounting books to learn.

Thanks for all your feedback.

If u really want to learn, start understand the report with
1. Profit n Loss aka income and expenses report
2. Debtors n Creditors Aging and statement of acc
3. Cash flow n Balance Sheet if u can understand.

Once u know that, mostly u will have an idea what u going to ask later n learn later. If u learn more details without understand the above reports, u will get more confused later

you go upah your accountant friend to teach you the basic knowledge. System or not, without accounting knowledge, what you do merely wasted because you not really know what you are doing.

5 days courses also wont help much because accounting is bloody boring and sleepy. You need personal touch.
