Amen. I do believe this is the truth.

It happens to me everytime when I sinned I tell myself " I must repent, otherwise my salvation will be at stake"; and it ends up becoming a "cycle" ie: Sin, remorse, repent, then sin again, remorse, repent - non stop and it's killing me.

To some point, I think the problem which misconception of repentance bring to us is self-righteousness. We "think" we can be righteous by "doing" repentance.

But I believe true freedom in Christ is, when we finally say to God " God help me to turn away from this sin, I CANNOT do it myself", only with this we shall then experience miracle and transformation by the work of God.

Just to add, Book of Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no once can boast."

In Acts 2:38, "Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."  With this call comes the work of the Holy Spirit within a person, giving him or her the power and ability to respond to God.
