John 6:54 (NIV) - Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
I need you to follow with me with a Bible because there will be some references you will need to check in order to understand what I'm expounding today.
In the book of John 6, when the Jews argued with Jesus how can anyone eats his flesh..Jesus said something profound...WHOEVER eats my flesh. Jesus does not disqualify. Whoever means those who comes to Jesus and believes in Him. See we disqualify people. Some denominations does that but Jesus doesn't.
What has eating of Jesus flesh and drinking blood related to? Answer is Holy Communion.
And what are the common misunderstanding that has beset the body of Christ with regards to Holy Communion?
2 Things
1. Some denomination disqualify others who are not the within it's denomination, they don't allow people to partake Holy Communion even though they are Christians
2. They will say Search your Heart for any Sins. Because if you eat the Holy Communion with sins in your life, you bring judgement and condemnation to yourself and they'll quote 1 Corinthians 11:28-29 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.)
Today I will lay to rest and remove this 2 misconception. Why is this important? Because Holy Communion is powerful for the healing and prosperity of the believer. The Devil knows this; and has rob many believers of this powerful truth that sets people free from affliction of life.
Point No.1, First to remove this argument..we look at what Jesus said in John 6:54, Jesus said WHOEVER. That means everyone qualify. You would not eat unless you believe what Jesus says about eating his flesh..which in later verse is revealed to be bread. Then in John 6:51, Jesus proclaim HE IS the Bread of Life..Bread..whoever eats it enter into Eternal Life. Bread signifying Holy Communion..Then Jesus also said this in verse John 6:39-41...It is God's Will that EVERYONE look to the son and believe, before mentioning He is the bread that came down from heaven. All these are interrelated. There you have it, No disqualification.
Point No.2, They will quote 1 Corinthians 11:28-29 as another disqualification, implying sin. But no where in that verse imply sin. You have been hoodwink by the Devil. In 1 Corinthians 11 verse 27..It says Whoever eats in an unworthy manny. Stop. This unworthy manner does not imply you are unworthy to partake. This unworthy manner means you do not understand why you partake Holy Communion..in the whole context, if you read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 11, you'll see Paul exhorted that people of those days, the people partook H.C. as if it was dinner time or lunch time whichever it is. As if they don't eat properly at home. (Read verse 34)
In verse 28 when it says everyone ought to examine himself..it means before you partake H.C....see verse 29. It says in the NIV FOR THOSE who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
What is "discerning the body of Christ"? It simply means you don't relate Eating and Drinking of the Holy Communion, remembering what Christ did for you at the cross. When we partake H.C. it is IN REMEMBRANCE of JESUS! NOWHERE will you find, search for sin in your heart. That is added in by MAN into the Bible.
What's it's all about anyway? Many things. It's about Salvation. Salvation isn't just Eternal Life. Salvation in the Greek is a mouthful. Many packages are included in Salvation, For example..now that we are reconciled back to God, We get access to His Grace and promises. When you partake H.C understanding the abundant Life that Jesus promised, you will have powerful victories. God wants you to understand the entire whole reason why God did this for you.
For example.. By whose Stripes you were Healed!, For your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich, And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Many..Many Many God's promises that you are in Need of! Holy Communion is a dignified remembrance of what Jesus has done at the cross.
Remember! The power of darkness was broken at the cross! The bondages that have kept people in misery has been broken! When we partake H.C we as Christian need to recognize Jesus not only came to save us from Hell but to ALSO usher us Into LIFE!
If any Man disqualify you from taking Holy Communion, Remember Jesus qualifies You! Partake it, remembering what Christ Did and what is the Effect of the Cross to your life!

Morning Fellow Believers of Christ, I need you to take out your Bible again Today. We'll be expounding a lot this coming days with Bible verses and I need you to refer to them.
In the body of Christ, today..there's this errornous idea, God is always angry at us whenever believers of Christ fail in their walk with God aka "sin" and thus has been separated from God. Do you know this is never valid for people who have accepted Christ? If you follow my previous..previous, previous devotion, you'll know that our Salvation and Righteousness is never dependant on our effort, It is a Gift.
Unless that you know all your sins are forgiven, past present and future, you will never know the depth of God's Love.
People always have this idea, whenever such Grace is preached, that God forgives much and all our sins including the future ones, people will go crazy and takes it as license to sin. Such is the rationalization of Man. Always take note we need to reject Man's rationalization on God's word because Men tend to messed up the truth of God's word.
But what does God says? This is demonstrated In Luke 7:47 the word of God say; When a person is forgiven much, it results into the person loving God much. If the person is forgiven little, it results the person into loving God little. This setting took place when a Sinful woman anoints Jesus feet with her Hair with expensive perfume! Do read Luke 7. There is a significant truth that Jesus is trying to impart here.
That is why in Romans 5:17, God's word say..those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life!
And if you correlate the 2 verses (Luke 7:47 & Romans 5:17); receiving God's abundant Grace = Receiving God's abundant Forgiveness.
and to Nail this Truth laying down ALL Argument to rest..Take a look at
Romans 6:14 (NIV) - For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
So If you Join in all the dots in a puzzle;
Luke 7:47 (NIV) - Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little. Romans 5:17 (NIV) - For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! Romans 6:14 (NIV) - For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
If you want to end up loving God effortlessly without gritting your teeth, conjuring your law keeping effort and have the bondage of Sin broken divinely...KEEP ON RECEIVING ABUNDANCE OF GOD'S GRACE WHICH IS HIS FORGIVENESS!
P.S: Do take note of Romans 6:14. If you put yourself under Law, Sin will have dominion over you. Putting yourself under Law means having the right standing with God by your obedience to the Laws of God.
Meditate on this slowly, it can mean liberation from the dominion of sin and causing you to love the Lord.

John 16:10 (NIV) - about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;
Morning people, need you to take out your bible today as we walk through this devotion. We'll focus on John 16.
In the book of John 16; the function of Holy Spirit is spelt out quite clearly in verse 8 - 11.
There are people who misuses this in error and say that the work of the Holy Spirit is to convict believers of sin. However you read carefully, you will find that it does not say that. I'll come straight to the point to tell you, the work of the Holy Spirit is to point believers to see how beautiful they are in Christ, how clean they are and how righteous they are in Christ.
And verse 10 nails this. The verse is in the main theme above..about Righteousness!
However let's address critics in case they try to argue about this.
In verse 8, The Bible states that HS will convict "the world" of sin. You are not the world. And the H.S. spelt it clearly in verse 9 Why Sin...because they rejected Christ. Do you see that? If you have accepted Christ, THEN YOU ARE NOT THE WORLD! AND YOU HAVE NOT REJECTED CHRIST! Don't let people hoodwink you telling you the HS convicts you A Sinner when you have been made righteous in Christ! Read the Bible, In THAT context, the H.S. Convicts Sin because the people of the world... unbelievers rejects Him as God and Saviour.
Verse 10, Oh Praise God for Verse 10. You hardly hear that being preached in the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit Convicts RIGHTEOUSNESS! This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit towards the believer!
Whenever you fail in your walk with God, The Holy Spirit convicts you..THAT you are Still Righteous in Christ! Why? The answer is in the same verse 10...Because Jesus has gone to be with the Father! What does that mean? It means that His Work at the Cross is Finished! If there is ONE SINGLE Sin that has not been dealt with, Jesus cannot go to the Father. When you believe in Christ, ALL your Sins have been dealt in the Body of Christ! IF THERE ARE FUTURE SINS that have not been dealt with at the cross, Jesus cannot be raised and resurrected and go to the Father (verse 10)....BUT THE FACT THAT HE WAS RAISED...Means you have been forgiven at the cross!
Do you hear me?
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict How Righteous you are in Christ. I'll tell you whose work convicts Sin. The Answer is the Devil. Those who advocate the ministry of being conscious of Sin belongs to this camp. The work of Satan is always to accuse believers of wrong and sin. This can be seen in Zechariah 3:1-5, Read it and see what the White Garment represents..Whose work it is?
Honour God and Take your position of righteousness given you by unearned Grace! It will bring you out from your depth of despair into righteous living effortlessly.

Can I throw you some questions?
Have you been taught not to ask too much and too many things from God but to give and serve Him only? Have you been told, you only get to pray when you get your life right with God? Have you been hearing, don't bother God because your prayer is not important? Have you believe, you cannot pray because you have been Sinning in your life? Have you been taught, Don't expect anything from God because all expectation will only be met in heaven and not here on Earth?
What have you been hearing or been taught that has stopped you from praying?
Hear the answer from God (in Philippians 4:6) to counter all these Lies that stemmed from maligning self righteous spirit:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
If you're afraid that sin will stop your prayer, look to Jesus as your Salvation, not yourself nor your actions, if you keep yourself in the love of Christ, you and God are tight, the blood of Jesus constantly washes you from all sins!
If you're afraid of asking too much, Look to God as God. What do I mean? That you're the one who is IN NEED, not God. There is nothing you can give back even to God unless you first receive the love of God and his grace. Don't ever hear lies even from "christian" circle that you shouldn't ask too much from God and should serve Him more. Take a look at the story of Martha and Mary. Who was the one who made Jesus look more like God and Who is the one who made him look AS IF He is pitiful and in need of her service?
The God who multiplies the 5 loaves and 2 fishes, how created all the stars and planets; needs you? Sometime we can be so vain to think like that.
If you're afraid; not to expect anything; hear what Jesus said in John 14:14; If you ask "anything". The reason why God puts "anything" is because He does not want you to think there is limitation to your situation; for example..that relative or family who hates Jesus. Or that Huge debt that's stressing you out; or your loved one that is critically ill.
If you're afraid that prayers will only be met in Heaven and not now? Hear Mark 10:30. It says in the ESV: who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time. Now means present tense now, not in heaven.
No dear Friends; why are you not praying? Meditate on Philippians 4:6.

Romans 10:4 (KJV) - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Morning believers.
What this verse means is that, the moment a believer puts his trust and Faith in Christ, every requirement of the Law that stood against us for justification before God, ends!
And Much More!
God credit Righteousness to your account even when you believe in Christ as IF you have fulfilled the requirement of the Law perfectly. Technically, it is not you who fulfilled it, but Christ who did it.
But because you believed in Christ, God treats you as IF you did it! Therefore when you hold on to this in Faith, you cannot lose your Salvation. That is God's promise to you.
You may tell me, but you're not perfect, you'll fall here and there, may sin here and there, I'll tell you, welcome to the club, NOBODY on earth is perfect, all of us are with you, being imperfect vessels for Christ to work in and through and through.
See understand this truth.
When you accept Christ, your Life has died and is buried in Christ, therefore God no longers look at you or your actions for justification. If God still does that, then it's a violation on his part to send Jesus to die for the purpose of saving us. What do I mean? If God still require our effort as justification, it is pointless for God to send Christ to the cross, The 10 commandments is more than sufficient.
Always Remember! Because Christ was sent; it only means God is telling us, We cannot justify ourselves. For more than 2000 years when God allowed Man to be under the Law, Nobody Could, Even King David Failed. As long as you hold this truth in understanding, of why Christ is sent... No Devil, No Man can shake your Faith in Christ.
John 6:11 (KJV) - And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
Morning People.
Do you know that, our God is a God of Abundance? Abundance means being provided, having more than enough. That is prosperity.
Perhaps we've heard sayings in the body of Christ that there's no such thing as prosperity, or God only provides just enough, sometimes less than what we want.
My Bible says it differently.
In John 6:11, The word of God says God provided as much as they would. The word "would" = Desire or Want. Meaning that God supplies would have continued if the people still wanted more.
It would have not stopped. But It stopped the moment the people had enough and could take no more. EVEN THAT!..there's 12 basketful of leftovers. Mind you, these are not crumbs or small pieces of leftovers but Fishes and loaves of bread! This is My God that the Bible speaks of.
We also have heard of this popular bible verse...That God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.....(Ephesians 3:20) and yet many Christians complain, they have never experience such miracles. The "exceedingly abundantly".
I'll tell you why. Because such "believers" could not believe God would do so. They have a negative connotation of who God is; or they believed they could not receive because they have sin in their life, ignoring all together and never understanding what Jesus did at the cross.
Dear Friends, we need to repent in our mind of wrong views about our God. Have the right and accurate Faith of who God is, and you may soon begin to see the workings of God's miracle start flowing!
Jesus did say, In this world, you will have trouble. I don't know what your troubles is, different people have their own portion of challenges. But Take Note! Because Jesus knew we will have our troubles..Therefore all the more reason you needed God's deliverance from the troubles of Life.
It's time to stop hearing all those voices of doubt that stems from self righteous maligning critical spirit that the devil work through self righteous people to stop God's people from receiving their much needed miracles. Believe in God and what He says. He Loves you dearly.
Hebrews 4:11 (NIV) - Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Morning Believers,
As you heard before, I've shared that Resting in God is very important. There's nothing more for you to do with regards to Salvation, It's a DONE and FINISHED Deal at the cross by our Lord Jesus. Your Part is to receive this and rest in the assurance of Christ's Finished work, not your work.
Your obedience does not qualify you, even when you fail to obey, it does not demerit you otherwise, why? Because it is the work of Christ, not yours.
The Story of Mary and Martha exemplify this.
Mary sat the feet of Jesus resting and receiving from God. Martha tried to work for God. Is there any difference today? There are still christians who subscribe to the mixture of Law and Grace, believing their servitude and obedience is what matters. And who did Jesus gently rebuke? I rest my case.
Today's verse comes from hebrews 4:11 which talks about Rest which I've shared so often, that even some christians complained "we don't have to do anything for our salvation hor? Just rest ar? Apologize for the pun intended but I intend to flex out religious response from you to get you into thinking mode.
The answer is Yes, there's nothing for you to do but to rest.
It is interesting to Note that Hebrews 4 was referring to the deliverance of Israel from Egypt to enter into the promised Land. And if you've studied your Bible, you will know that God told them to enter in to possess the Land, they sent 12 spies which God never told them to do and out of the 12, only 2 believed they could enter in. The 10 all Wailed in Fear of the disbelieve because they saw giants and felt like grasshoppers before them.
Take NOTE! In Hebrews 4:3, which is related to this incident, God should have said...They shall never enter my land. But Why Did He interchanged Land with the word "rest"? See our Brother in Christ, Pehkay mentioned that the OT must be understood in the Light of the New Testament. If you link this 2 verse of NT and OT, you will begin to understand, Today, Our Promised Land = Rest.
That is why hebrews 4:11 exhort us to make every effort to enter that REST! God even warned if you don't, He swears in his oath, people who refuse to believe will never enter in, just like all those Israelites who standing just at the brink of the promised land, they all perished and died. Even Moses The one who lead them, could not enter in. So close and yet so far! Only 2 Entered In. Do you know who are they?
It's an Oxymoron situation. Striving Just to enter into Rest. In the KJV, it says Labour to enter into Rest. It may sound like we need to work to obtain it, actually it only means
"Fighting the good Fight of Faith". Why? Because there will be voices out there, be from yourself, other people or the devil telling you, You've not done enough for God to merit Salvation.
We need to repent in our mind; There's nothing for me to do with regards to our Salvation but to Trust in Christ in what He has done. That Trust needs to enter in "Resting" In Jesus Christ!
God will never discriminate even if the wrong is your own
Psalm 34:18 (NIV) - The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The one thing that I can testify and Love the Lord for this is that; God will never discriminate you whenever you come to Him for whatever reasons.
I repeat, WHATEVER the reason are, no matter how small or insignificant it is. If it matters to you, it matters to God. How do I know this? If it concerns God to know the number of your hair, then every little thing matters to Him. (Luke 12:7)
You will never hear the tongue wagging or finger pointing which People so often does. Our God is a gentleman God, If I can put it that way.
I've always hold on to this special verse John 6:37 (All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.) and it has help me tremendously not to be Afraid to come to God, despite of whatever the situation is; be it of other's people reproach of me or their condemnation of me or even if I did wrong and it's my fault. The Lord will NEVER ask me to go away.
God is our refuge and hiding place in times of trouble even if the trouble is of our own doing.
The Lord can restore to you what was lost.
Today, if you have some heartache, then Hear the word of the Lord in psalm 34:18, God is close to those who are broken hearted. And He saves those who are crushed in the spirit.
Some people gives the idea, God will just give you a pitty pat on your back, fold his arm to see if you can pass the so called "test".
My Bible says otherwise. It says; God Saves Those who are crushed in spirit. The word Saves in the Hebrew is "yasha" which means "to deliver". The meaning of Deliver means God will do something about your situation. I don't know what it will be, there are so many variables with the Lord. He can vindicate you, restore to you, save you from a situation, preserve you, protect you, help you, etc. Whatever it is, He will deliver you from continuing being crushed!
Acts 1:8 (NIV) - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Good Morning Fellow believers;
I believe one of the reason why, we haven't really been changed in our character and conduct is because some of us have forgotten to acknowledge the workings of the Holy Spirit. We know it in our head knowledge but in practical reality, we rarely seek the workings of the Holy Spirit, let alone mention Him in prayer.
When was the last time you've called On the Holy Spirit?
Our Lord Jesus is not here on Earth but is at the right Hand of Father God in Heaven. How does God dwell in our life then? The answer is The Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus says He HAS to go to the Father in Heaven or else the Holy Spirit will not come to us.
We need to accept this equation and acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life! It is not enough to just address Jesus Christ or God the Father but it is equally important to address and call on the Holy Spirit as the 3rd Divine person of God as often as we address the other 2 divines persons of God.
Acts 1:8 says that We WILL Receive power from the Holy Spirit, not a maybe or perhaps or possible but a Definate WILL. A very resounding certainty!
The word Power in the Greek = "Dunamis", which means power, might, strength of God. Try to understand the power that resurrected Christ from death to Life is the very same spark of energy that can touch your life or empower you. Acknowledge that very same power!
The Holy Spirit only acts in conformity to the truth of his word, therefore it is utmost important to have an accurate understanding of God in the word of the Bible. Meaning, you must have an accurate revelation of God's word. When you have a wrong view of God, or wrong revelation of God's word, you are living a powerless life, void of the working of the Holy Spirit.
No wonder your character is hardly changed or that you hardly experience God or his miracles.
What Acts 1:8 means is that unless we get the Holy Spirit working, we are not changed. How do you access the workings of the Holy Spirit? Acknowledge Him and recognized Him in simple and practical Faith!, That is all.
If you are worried that you cannot understand the word of God in the Bible then Seek the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning to you. Seek Him as a teacher of the Word of God. If you are worried that yours flaws are too many and is a hindrance from being close with God, then Seek the Holy Spirit as the "advocator" who will defend you. Advocator here simply means a Lawyer who argues on behalf of your case, on your side defending you! Against Satan and will remind God that Christ is your sacrificial lamb that was already punished and judged at the cross in representing you!
If you are worried your strength will fail you and unable to behave correctly then seek the Holy Spirit as the Power of God empowering you!
Whatever your need is, understand the role of the Holy Spirit and Seek the Holy Spirit functioning power to address your challenges! Call on Him, ACKNOWLEDGE HIM! You will see God moving!
Matthew 17:20 (NIV) - He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Morning Fellow Believers of Christ, how are you?
Today I want to talk about faith and your prayers. I believe, I'm getting impression from the Lord, the reason some of you are not praying is because you don't believe God will do something about it. BTW, prayer is not just requests to God, prayer can also be normal conversation with God that doesn't involve requesting from God. Prayer in the most raw essence is basically communication with God.
If you say that you don't really have much to talk to God, I'll tell you, you have yet to know this wonderful God who cares about you more than your mother or father is able to.
It came from your disappointment of unanswered prayers. And perhaps some of you blame it on the lack of faith or that your faith isn't big enough to move God.
Today I want to remove and destroy that blockage, if you are willing to hear this from your heart.
Can I tell you, that you really do have a spiritual enemy that really does exist. I have to emphasize on the "does exist". This Enemy who, Jesus labelled the Thief that came to kill, steal and destroy will fight tooth and nail when you first pray. Do you hear that? He will fight tooth and nail..because If he can hold you to the position of unbelief, he has less one spiritual warrior giant to worry about.
Because Christians who have passed that test of prevailing, are causing a lot of problems to the enemy's war against humanity. With that being said, this enemy will DO ANYTHING to kill your faith. How he does it is by bringing in difficult situations that doesn't make sense at times, bring confusion, hurt and pain and even resisting your prayers via planting doubts in your heart and mind to doubt on God's Love and the willingness of God wanting to answer your prayers.
Bible says our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual enemies (Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.)
When you understand this, you have passed the first hurdle. You will want to pray because you now know this "scheme" of the Enemy.
The 2nd hurdle is the problem of the lack of Faith. Sometime we are the one causing negative doubts to ourselves by our human rationalization. We think that there are degrees of Faith for simple prayers and challenging prayers. We think that difficult cases like deliverance from demonic attack or praying for healing of critical stage 4 cancer requires great mountain Faith and only selected Holier Christians or healing evangelist are in that category while we do not qualify. Best of all, in comparison to those example, you think that praying for Job interview doesn't need such Faith as compared needed in those 1st 2 examples.
Can I ask you to stop accepting such erroneous doctrine? It is what is causing you not to receive from God. I'm very serious.
Jesus says Faith as small as mustard seed can move the mountains. Take that in LITERALLY! Whatever Faith you have...even if it's very very Nano-Small. God will take that and move the mountains for you. I said, God will take that! He will take whatever Faith you have. Hence this verse..Faith as small as a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20).
Remember, you are not the one who is trying to move the mountains in your life. You are not the one who has the power. God Has it. He just need your consent, which is your Faith. Just say "God I don't know how and it's not my problem, I leave it in your divine hands, I just believe in you".
That is more than enough for God and let me tell you...it pleases God!
Just want to ask, which English translation of the Bible do you guys read/recommend?
My pastor and lifegroup use ESV so I followed suit for a while. But I find it difficult to read and understand even though I'm English educated.. So I'm thinking of switching to NIV. But then I've heard that NIV was paraphrased. I also have an NRSV Bible. KJV is a big no no for me. Also, I've been told to avoid The Message Bible.

Actually every translation has their pro n con. Some of the translation is very accurate in the NIV, while other passages in KJV, etc.
I'm not advocating for any translation, but personally myself, I have the NIV version.
You can use this tool, I find it very useful as it has all the translation out there, which you can check for better understanding. It even has the Hebrew and Greek.
People may think they found some new truth and freedom without God without realizing sooner or later, they need hope in this depressing and much evil beyond belief sort of world.
Where else to find hope other than God?
And We believers understand that, don't we?
