Salvation is not about prosperity.

Nothing is wrong with prosperity but it is seriously wrong with Prosperity Gospels. 

In Matthew 6:24 (KJV) “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

In Matthew 19:24 (KJV) “And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

Jesus was born poor, and he died poor.  During his earthly tenure, he spoke time and again about the importance of spiritual wealth and health. When he talked about material wealth, it was usually part of a cautionary tale.

Anyway about the guy who went round in circles. I believe he was a real "Christian" before. But the thing is, when you leave the faith. Strange things happen. Look at Judas. He was with Jesus for 3 years. He saw all of the miracles and yet he still betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. I think it is pretty certain that Judas does not trust Jesus but then to betray him like he did? You really cannot imagine it right. The same could be said of the guy who goes in circles and circles. Yes, when people come out of the faith, they behave in funny ways. You really cannot explain why they behave or act or think the way they do right now. Just like the disciples could not imagine Judas betraying Jesus even though Jesus said that Judas is going to betray him.

The fact of the matter is. It's still astonishing why judas betrayed jesus even though he has seen the miracles. The comparison to why Christians who become atheist or join other religion like Catholicism is almost similar. It's as if those people never joined christianity in the first place. They forgot everything they learnt. Judas betrayal is as if Judas forgot everything that he has seen or heard while he was with Jesus.

Of course the prophecy of Judas was predicted hundred of years ago. But then no one would have expected someone who has seen the miracles to betray jesus
