Asiasoft hasn't said much other than saying that they'll be the sole distributor of south east asia. There are two things that might happen :

1. They will delay their product distributions due to the lack of info giving out.
2. They will definately advertise their official distribution ( they would definately want to make themselves well known among their buyers so yeah, you might see some advertisment before Jan. 16.

Eh seriously i dont think Asiasoft is going to open a new SEA server. From what i read in the newspaper ads (dont flame if im wrong) i only see they are the OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTORS of WoW from Blizz. Meaning they get their goods straight from Blizz instead of another middle-man like most shops atm.

As an effect, maybe prices starter pack and monthly cards are cheaper because they cut out the middleman but i think also if cheap cant be alot difference.

As for the rumoured SEA server, imo it can happen by a veyr very long shot. We just dont have the population for it. We are talking abt one of the best and most played MMORPG in the world. A SEA server just doenst have a good profitable prospect imo.

However if someone can prove me wrong, please explain. Include SS of the so called ads or something. Dont just go "i heard from so and so"..Rumours of SEA servers have strectched far back from the launching of WoW so i wouldnt bet on it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Maybe you guys can visit AsiaSoft forums for more info:

QUOTE
AsiaSoft Online will be in charge of distributing World of Warcraft in Singapore and Malaysia.
There will not be exclusive WoW servers hosted by AsiaSoft Online. Players will still engage in the Global system.
Currently the method of payment for subscription are still similar as stated in www.worldofwarcraft.com.

It will make it easier to get copies of WOW but thats about it - if you have any experience with gaming software "support" Malaysian style, you know how it works i.e. suck.

No malaysian server. No singapore server either. Probably no Australian server either. Dont see that happening anytime soon, so we gotta bear with 400-500ms latency if you want WOW.

Right now, asiasoft's operation look so ah pia i have no confidence that they even ordered any copies of BC or will have any.

Psst.. buy from Singapore online game retailer. simple, easy, accept paypal, just across the causeway. I pre-ordered one back in October - they have kept me updated on the changing status of expected stock arrival. Very professional.

one example

Pre-ordered so they only charge when they ship.

I estimate (retail cost 74.90 + standard shipping 6.40) * exchange rate 2.3 = approx. RM 186.99

you can pre-order BC from offgamers.com, which is a malaysian company.

They usually sell only the cdkey but you can request for the box set and pick it up from their office in KL.
