Same with my note 5. Last 2 days battery drained faster and lagging. Maybe update of Google service. Today it is back to normal.

You can setup gesture to lock the screen with Nova launcher. I double tap the home screen to lock device. Works great and less icon to clutter up the desktop

Hi. just want to share my experience. Using a Silver Note 5 for 4 months. Was on Digi and problem is exactly like what you and a few forumers have described. Phone showing 4G at full bar, no data was coming through. Had a few calls with the techs but still couldn't be resolved.

I switched to Celcom now because of the attractive First Gold. It is working great now. 4G and full speed all the way. For my case, Digi was the problem.

I think you are overly worried about an overly inflated problem. Most forums are full of people complaining about problems. It is natural that you see complaints when you are in any forum.

Yes. Experienced that a couple of times before. But latest firmware update solved that. Maybe once or twice in a month but nothing to lose sleep over. Sometimes, it is the themes that we applied that caused the problem. I am using Nova Launcher and it is working very well.

I think it is limited to Telco in South East Asia. So a Singaporean set would work with Celcom.
