This is the screenshot of my phone..u believe or not?..if u not believe which samsung phone u think got this awesome batterylife?..1day23hours and left another 19hours..sot at 7 hours plus..damn awesome..think better than mate 8.

This is not note 5 bro..me, like mad mod kaw2 note 5 also hard to past 8 hours sot and 22 hours overall usage..

My mum newly bought samsung galaxy j7.only rm999..battery can really last longer bro.same capacity 3000mah with note 5..now who said samsung cannot produce good and long lasting battery life..but resolution really inferior to note 5..only 1280x720..compared to note 5 2k display..ram also lower at 1.5gb..but I feel the phone not that slow, just not fluid like note 5..maybe resolution low, so although the phone spec are not top notch, it is still quite fast..can still layan 720p youtube video with style since battery can last longer..Sometimes think to buy this phone as a 2nd phone..want to use as a gps device and layan youtube.haha

A series is good and really premium..but the price quite expensive.btw, really good see this a9 packing 5k mah..wonder how long it will last..should be easily 2 days usage.wow.

There's the problem: 1080p. I think 2K is too much for a phone and it puts extra strain on the phone for no reason except eye candy. The Mate 8 can be fluid and last longer because it only pushes a little more than half of the Note 5. If Samsung had kept to 1080p but bumped up the specs it would blow everyone else out of the water.

for good display, resolution is not just only factor. color accuracy, contrast, brightness,etc.
I think what make samsung phone different than other lcd phone is the deep black of OLED produce (inifinity contrast).
color accuracy is top notch with basic mode. If you are not into color accuarcy, oled is well known for saturate color.
Just my opinion, i dont think it is worth changing to mate 8 from note 5 unless you are absolutely dislike note5. it is even less worth than let say changing to s7 edge/lg g5 from note 5.

Chipset wise : mate 8 is much more powerful and just looking at its Antutu benchmark alone is more than 50% higher than Note5. In daily use Mate 8 is obviously very much faster and smoother than Note 5
Operating temperature : Mate 8 is very much cooler. One hardly feel warm even with intensive usage continously over 2-3 hours
Battery life : Mate 8 easily 10 hours SOT vs 5-6 hours most Note 5 users are getting
GSM/LTE lockup : mate 8 is top and doesn't faced issues such as calls drop off and LTE connectivity issues a common problem among Note 5 users
Display : mate 8 though only is 1080p, seriously I cannot see any significant difference with S7E, LG v10, Nexus 6P with higher resolution. Unless one has microscopic eyes only geeks will look for pixel differences. Anyway those who love SAmoled might not like the LCD display. Personally I just do not like Amoled as I find the colors being overly bright and colors too saturated. This I suggest you see it yourself to judge
Camera shots quality : can easily match Note 5 but loses out to the more superior LG V10, S7E

Note5 main advantage I would say is its SPen only
The Mate 5 is definitely positively a big upgrade over the Note 5
Sorry if I offend any Note 5 lovers/ users here - just speaking out based on my experiences having used both these phones

If you are happy with Note 5, why even bother to consider to change ? Change only if you wish a overall much better phone and you have a budget for it

Besides that; gpu is weaker than note5 and nexus 6p. Luckily it is only 1080p. Speaking of best/fastest soc, nothing beat the sd820 or exynos 8890 in s7/g5/mi5. Cpu and gpu is easily more superior than in mate8 or note5

I do tottaly  agree the mate8 battery is superior. 

Note5 data drop off not solved with recently update? I never experience that. Sorry i maybe wrong regarding data/lte issue.

No bug when i use swiftkey, google or samsung keyboard with opera web browser,

But got bug when i use Google and samsung keyboard with samsung web browser.
