But rakuten they say charge lower than maybank ? Anyway any benefit of maybank over rakuten
*
Rakuten is cheaper if you trade below RM 1k or above RM 100k each transaction. So up to individual if its "cheaper".

Mind to share?

About pharmaniaga, any chance to get hyped due to vaccine distribution or already priced in?
*
It seems to be perpetually hyped.

If there's one thing I find off about glove makers is that all are stingy Chinaman. Earn 21c but dividend give 3c. Then purposely mention special dividends 8c. Why need to be so complicated? Terus announcement 11c cannot?
*
Why dont separate? it helps potential investors to analyse the dividend trend. If its a special dividend, then there is the possibility of it not recurring in the next quarter or year which is useful information.

Why need to separate?

If they company suddenly disposed an asset and gain extra money to distribute then a special dividends make sense because it will never gain a one again in near future.

However glove makers will continue to get fat profits for the rest of 2021, why need to mention? If you're feeling generous and want to reward shareholder, then just declare at once.
*
Potentially the management itself feels that the high profits are not sustainable.
While you mention the rest of 2021, thats only one year, 2 years if you include 2020. Maybe even more years, but 10 years from now?
Some people look at a longer term at that. Just because some information is irrelevant to you does not mean it is not useful for other investors.
Assuming just for example that these profits are only for 2020 and 2021, it will be useful for investors to separate the special dividend to normalise the trend.
Dont supposed a company would want to make so much trouble for themselves to get approvals for a 2nd dividend distribution. If you feel its pointless you can raise it at the shareholder's meeting.

What's going on with GenM today? Is it because of the extended MCO?

they announce open, then announce interstate travel still restricted, not surprising.

What’s your avg acquisition price btw?
*
Since you are so interested in serbadk, you should have noticed the multiple private placements throughout 2020 right? many people dont like it.

They lower your expectations as much as possible first, so whatever financial results appear, shareholders will be happier lol

Anyone foreseeing any trends when MCO comes to its deadline of March 4th? ...or semua factored in cuz people expect it to get extended, lol
*
MCO is not as big a factor as it was. Many businesses are already operating at normal capacity.
Unless you are considering those that are still prevented from operating.
For those already operating, at most there would be a short spike but the price will normalize very quickly.

Just my 2 cents.

I first highlighted KGB a few months ago in this thread when it was promoted by Kentrade/Kenanga.

At that time, the valuation was more attractive.

After ensuring myself that KGB does not stand for the Russian secret service, for some reason, I did not buy the stock.

Since then, KGB has gone up a lot. But then it also fell victim to the 'goreng mentality' and the stock became volatile. smile.gif

Let's hope KGB will become like The Battle of Stirling Bridge between the forces of William Wallace and the English army where the superior English forces were defeated.

Long live Braveheart!  rclxm9.gif

lol how did you think of that hahaha
was thinking too bad it wasnt the burger joint. might be interested if it was lol...

How are the banks doing great when more than 50 percent of SME is unable to service their loan?

I have no further comment on plantation stocks to avoid comfirmation bias
*
Correct me if wrong but if they delay loan repayments, the interests payments will increase as penalty right? So technically on paper, they are earning more. Just that their cash flow may not look great.

The day when Edge published the article stating the exact issues highlighted by KPMG and how SD responded to those issues ( one could have read it on Bursa website also) that was time to look for the exit. SCIB and KPower too.

*
When thinking rationally...
But too many people affected by many "gurus", many convinced that big risk big rewards...now SD become the most "stable" stock while KLCI index going down. brows.gif

US stocks or Malaysia stocks a good buy for long term hold for growth/dividend?

US stocks take at least 1 day for funds to reach via Wise > IBKR. Malaysia stocks instant can invest via FPX deposit to Mplus etc brokers.

I see US stocks keep increase like mad.. Malaysia stocks I got hold a few their value keep up and down +- RM10 to 20 bucks.

If wanna invest in local stocks need to go for those cheap stocks with a lot of potential growth? not the matured stocks?

Please share your advise sifus sekalian..

Don't mind if I ask why is the speed of funding one of your concern if your intention is long term investment?

Alright. Thank you for the input. Looks like the strong balance sheet of a company is not so important to look. It's the forward PE that counts
*
The earnings don't come from nothing. A strong balance sheet is important. Just that many gurus out there hiding behind "strong balance sheet" for the lack of any research or explanation. Forward PE is based on projected numbers which is basically anyone's guess. Its better to look at the financial statements and company plan as a whole. Not just selected parts of information that you like.
