Hi, if my dad wants to starts playing with the stock market, so should i ask him to start off with REITs or dividend based shares? He has some shares last time (more than 10 years ago and i think it's Airasia and he is just getting the dividends) but he is not so active.
For me, i'm more towards the dividend based shares and i'm willing to take some risk but i don't know what should i advice him in this situation. Any thoughts? |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jul 16 2019, 12:49 PM) Make dunno Haha in the same house, hard to make don't know. Not advisable thing to do. Winning advise - how? Losing advise - how? I seen one friend advised to sell one stock. Half a year late due to new projects, which company won a lot, the stock rallied 50% ++. Friend got cursed like hell..... |

Just a thought, is it wise to use another trading account to make some quick profits when the share prices drop?
I have 2 accounts and 1 account is not used. For example, airasia dropped a lot today and there's nothing much I can do besides average down with my main account. On the other hand, i was thinking about using the other account for quick profits. Any thoughts/advise? |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 29 2019, 10:03 AM) LOL, 2 account 3 account 4 account, money also come from same pocket. Lol, of course same pocket. What i meant was if i have 5 lots at RM3, i will need to pump quite a lot to average it down based on the latest price (Rm2).There is no different in your net position, whether you buy from 1st ac or second ac. Instead, with a fresh account, i can buy at Rm2 and perhaps sell it off at Rm2.20. Quicker to make small profits, that's all. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 29 2019, 02:32 PM) Previously, you had 5 lots at Rm3. Now i get what you mean, regardless of which account. Didn't see it that way earlier because i usually sell the whole lot one time so my mind was stuck with the final average down number vs current price Now buy new fresh batch at Rm2.00 and sell at Rm2.20, you don't make a profit? Must use fresh account to buy, only consider profit? This kind of math is beyond my understanding... Also, you need to take in account of the previous bought Rm3.00, should be adjusted to Rm2.10 due to special dividend ex. Stock market is about making money only, not about find a way of inventive "syiok sendiri" figure. Can just treat it a different batch, ABC-batch1 or 2 in excel, if really want to. |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 14 2020, 12:12 PM) Thanks bro. I win some and I lose some. Now it is like playing musical chair in the share market. Just curious, on an average to make profit/losses daily, how many shares do you trade and what is the capital allocated? We just have make sure that we have to chair to sit on when the music stops. Potential death trap for those playing contra and margin for rubber stocks. So far i am only playing with 1 share at a time if it is meant for daily profits. QUOTE(lowya @ May 14 2020, 02:26 PM) Hi, not really into property sector shares but i didn't find this share appealing last time.QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 14 2020, 02:42 PM) I only allocate about RM40,000. About RM8K for five counters. Sometimes I buy less than five counters and sometimes I don't buy at all. But I only do this as a hobby. Sometimes I may allocate RM16K for one counter. It is too time consuming to be monitoring the share prices daily especially if we have a full time job. I think about 95% of traders will lose money in the long run. If it is so easy to earn RM1K a day, then in one month, a trader can earn about RM20K. There is no such free lunch in this world. |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 20 2020, 11:16 AM) I only bought HARTA for short term trading. The latest QR shows that its performance is only average. Therefore, following my earlier post, no point in waiting for the next QR. The current PE multiple stands at 68.75. Yes, the PE for these stocks are a bit high, i am monitoring it as well and might let go Harta within this week. Definitely not for long term.See for e.g. https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/do-h...ise-share-price In fact, for me, the valuation for all the glove stocks (except for maybe Comfort) all fail. There is no margin of safety at all. Its all about hit and run. At some point, the party will end and the retail investors holding the tulip will cry - the Tulip Mania. Just my own 2 cents view... |

QUOTE(DatoChin @ Jun 2 2020, 03:35 PM) genm stock rised just because it may reopen on June 9th? It looks like everything is about market sentiment only now, from gloves, casino to airlines. I'm seriously lost on where to focus ofcourse it will reopen sooner or later, but that doesnt justify why stock value need to increase. currently is customer sentiment market that doesn't have any rational market sense. |
