Would it be smart to copy whatever that EPF is investing?

http://www.kwsp.gov.my/portal/en/about-epf...1-disember-2018

My logic is they have lots of experts who made the decision which shares to invest in, so copying them would surely be wise.

Hi every sifus here

I'm planning on trading Asian stocks. But first I need to do my research, so I'm looking for some info to help me narrow down on where I need to look because..... Asia is dam big. lol

Which Asian country's stocks is volatile enough so I can do short term trades?
Is there a stock database for me to look for a specific company's info?
Which broker should I consider?

If you can let me know this, then I can start researching.

Thank you!!

You haven't started yet, and you're already asking everyone else to do your homework for you.

Imagine how screwed you'd be once you start buying stocks for real.

How do you guys DCA for stocks? I’m on Rakuten trade, and I’m tempted to just DCA like RM1000 on stocks every week, but the transaction and broker fees is like rm12 each time I buy that little.

What’s the optimum amount I should buy each transaction to minimise the fees lost?

Guys, is this a legitimate short term stock flipping strategy?

I can see what stocks are trending in real time in rakutentrade, does it make sense if I monitor it to see which one's rapidly trading at high volumes and going up in price, buy some of those shares, then quickly resell it back for slightly higher than what I bought?

I saw MSM in the top 10 active traded stocks 2 weeks ago, I felt a little kiasu and bought some myself at 50 cents, but later read from i3 that it might be purely speculation from big buyers due to no news coming from MSM that might cause a spike. I got a little spooked and sold all my shares the next money for 60 cents and people bought it off quickly.

It was my first time doing something like that and I wonder if this is a legit strategy. My original plan was to invest in mostly dividend and REIT stocks, but after making 600+ by just flipping stocks overnight, I think I'd rather do that.

Lol the way you all play shares like going into Vegas gamble.

To all readers out there, there is also a bias in information sharing too. See the past few pages, all share how much they earned lol, but not a single post about losses. One side is win, the other side must be lose. The sharing of information is not equal for win and lose.

I like to believe everyone that are actively trading in bursa right now are playing a high stakes game of chicken.

Everyone thinks some counter can only go up, up, up, and certain parties are manipulating the market for sure. There's no way this is sustainable. At some point, the market will realize enough is enough, and then the true pricing of these super inflated stocks will be revealed, while everyone who was too late to dump them will be burned.

I'm doing it too, though I'm not playing around with big numbers like some people in this forum. I'm treating the stock market like a casino right now. I'm more than happy if I can make RM100-300 after fees once every few days by flipping glove stocks.

Hi sifu,

I would like to ask some opinion from you guys.

I am planing to place 2k fd - 10 mths @2.65% pa, top up wahed RM100, and Rm3k into Maybank shares next week (depends on the share price).

Maybank share price I monitor it from 8.15 - 8.02 -8.05-8.07-8.08. Not sure whether will be drop further in next week.

Do you guys think the three things that I am planning to do is wise? Any shares that is worth to be in watchlist if there are stable and giving consistent reasonable high dividend?
*
I think it's not worth it

You'll be charged fees when buy/sell shares, it's around RM15 if you buy 3k worth of stocks. That's like 0.5%. try to minimize the % of fees as much as possible. I usually put in 4-5k minimum each time when I buy stocks

I am using Rakuten to trade. The fee is RM9 for investment amount between the RM 1k to Rm9999.00. Even though, RM4k-5k is still the same charge and is it safe to place 4k-5k to Maybank? My safe means have consistently strong in paying dividend and share price appreciation in long term.

Any other stock that worth to watch out?
*
+RM5 stamp duty +clearance fee +SST

the fees will eat you alive if you don't do at least 4-5k transactions minimum each time.

One thing I keep seeing on i3 forums, sharks and 'operators'. Who are they, really? People keep mentioning operators are manipulating stock prices and have the power to push up stock prices if they want to make a profit.

How does it work?

Can the directors/management in such company simply sell their positions? Whenever they sell their holdings, it'll be publicly announced right?

https://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/0188.jsp#

HLT was hyped for being glove-related, but look at the comments critisizing the director frequently selling out his stocks as the price went up.

You are right. Being a trader is stressful and time consuming. Even being a value investor will consume time. And the risk is high.

I suppose that’s why some investors prefer to invest in FSM unit trusts, StashAway or Vanguard index funds. In return for less stress and more time, they prefer to pay an annual management fee and trustees’ fees.

No right or wrong approach.

As for me, I have diversified into different baskets of investment to manage my risk.

For novice investors, I would suggest that they start off with a portfolio of unit trusts. To test whether they can handle the stress of seeing the prices go up and down every day. If they cannot even handle the stress of the fluctuation of price in unit trusts, then they have no business buying individual stocks which is even more volatile.

My personal views only as usual...

B-but it feels really good when you make an easy 10% return in 10 minutes flipping hot stocks at 5-10 cents difference between buy/sell!
