No one talking about Airasia yet? I learned a lesson from trading Airasia shares. (LONG POST)
2 years ago, bought it for huge dividends. What could go wrong with a big name like Airasia right? Then, Covid 19 came. It plunged. Thinking that the March crash offered better opportunities elsewhere, I cut loss at RM0.85.
What happened 1 year later? Airasia FREAKIN' BOUNCED BACK.
This is why I hate cutting-losses. You lose real money by cutting.
Had I waited longer, my losses would be less. (Although one can say opportunity loss is also loss, but what if bad luck strikes twice? What if you cut loss & buy another downtrending stock? Double-whammy)
Another thing I learned is to buy with a longer term. Even if I intend to buy today & sell tomorrow, I tell myself, I may need to hold for a year. Then, I need not get stressed out when the stock falls after I buy it.
Maybe it's just me who's bad at timing the market.
But I'm starting to believe that time in the market beats timing the market.
