QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 28 2020, 09:33 AM) Good morning folks. walao u all don’t like that la. make me also want to all in nowI sofld Comfort and Kossan this morning for a small profit of +RM1000 plus. My eyes bulged when I saw my portfolio for Supermax and TopGlove. The unrealized profit is now enough to buy a small car after 2 days of trading. This is madness. To take profit or to continue to monitor until tomorrow? Decision...decision... |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ May 29 2020, 11:30 PM) Yup, the stock market is doing all right - on a bull run. i’m not newcomer. i have been here for some timeThis is because I am seeing a lot of new forumers here for the first time who are coming out from the shadows. One day the party will end for sure but for the time being, let’s just enjoy the ride. Again I repeat - just remember to protect your downside and your backside. |

QUOTE(bmwcaddy @ Jun 7 2020, 10:33 AM) Thank you for the comprehensive advice, i can see this to be applicable for me as im about 1 year into the stock market and are still in -15% region thanks to covid, but nonetheless i believe my portfolio bluechips should rebound after covid. in my opinion 5 companies in your portfolio needs to be diverse in business area. currently i’m quite heavy on finance which i think i should branch out but so far only good valuation i find in finance company. Just to ask, can i know why would you prefer the 5 companies that you have mentioned here? (I know i can just google their historicals but maybe you can provide a layman description since you probably invested in them previously) my five in portfolio is maybank and pbbank. |

QUOTE(bmwcaddy @ Jun 7 2020, 10:50 AM) Great to hear about yours. Mine is mostly on Maybank and YTLREIT (both for dividend purpose). Did you Dollar cost average along the way? i don’t dollar average actively. only when it is really down by a lot. ytlreit i study before but didnt buy. is it good? profit and dividend wise.. sustainable? |

QUOTE(ZeroSOFInfinity @ Jun 7 2020, 11:18 AM) I have 4 currently - Maybank, PBB, CIMB and RHB. One in Careplus. too heavy on financial stocks. when crisis hit 1 time all goneAll 4 bank stocks "caught" the rise last week, when the price was still low to enter (7.50, 14.86, 3.65 & 4.74 respectively). Now waiting for RHB's dividend ex-date next week and see where it goes, before deciding whether to sell. For PBB, most likely hold long term, while Maybank and CIMB is still 50/50. As for Careplus, entered at 1.50, and expect to hit 2+ next week, then sell. Now thinking of going to Hibiscus and DRB-Hicom, before settling with a good dividend stock. Any suggestions? |

QUOTE(skty @ Jun 7 2020, 08:59 PM) not agree with "Good company at crazy valuation is bad investment. Shit company with extremely low valuation can sometimes be a wonderful investment". ya agree but best value roi can find currently is bank. will u willing to accept a lower roi stock for sake of diversification?my principle is "become partner of a good company at fair price is better than become partner of an average company at cheap price". Anyway, that is my point of view. yes knowledge is power. But there is the another YOU in you that you need to be able to control well is equally important. I hope the people in this forum will one day wake up and realize that trying to time the market is the exact same thing as gamble. Preface : don't easily believe in anything that I said. Whatever shared are from the experience of one life, principle is simple, but the process to carry out is different from person to person because it's subject to your own understanding, your own ability, your own behavior, your own temper, etc. Whatever shared is not a principle that is ALWAYS true, that principle is applicable to that particular person at that point of time. Therefore, treat it as reference, don't easily believe in anything that I said. the correct diversification is try to find others investment that have low correlation between each other that has equal opportunity to get the same ROI. |
