Doesnt matter. People now are talking about the upcoming QR result, and the money they can make buying TG shares.

And I dont think its the govt, since they die die protect TG due to the Customs issue.

But..... if they dont want TG to take over, better start mengaum next Monday.

Correction
The money they can make from selling TG shares.

Buybacks is done when the company feel that the market is pricing it's share below its fair value or to provide support.

Buybacks is good overall for the share price presentations, as it's keep a strong demand in the market for the stock as well as provide a better EPS due to reduction in overall share outstanding.

The bad about buybacks is, if its done during when the share price is high then it will be a bad investment for the company in the long run when the share prices drop to a lower level later. In that case, it would be better for all the shareholder to be given an extraordinary dividend instead.

Clearly this is more of a short term move, and would hurt long term investors of topglove which prefer it to invest the cash into the long haul for stuff like R&D, factory expansion, acquisition target or even dividend so they can use the money in other stock with a higher alpha.
*
Doesn't this only happen when the company cancels those treasury shares it has bought? EPS will still be calculated by the total number of shares irrespective of who holds them.

Was panicky and depressed like the glove counter prices.
Was mostly steady in the face of the shit that naysayers were talking about the doom of glove counters.
Even made a little dinner money trading Smx for TG and back again.

given the dramatic rises and falls of these glove counters over the past 2-3 months, i think it everyone in it got a pretty "traumatic" experience.

but i hope no PTSD! sweat.gif

1. those who got in early, held on, little trading - gains vanished by recouped a fair amount.

2. those who got in mid-season, stressed to sell but bought back... some losses, some pain.

3. those who got in late, dumped all fast enough, bought back - somewhat OK.

4. those who got in late, high price, dumped at lowest, never bought back - very stressed, very painful.

well, the game is still on, will see next week, a crucial one that may set the tone from yesterdays low.
*
I get more trauma when mistakenly clicking Buy instead of Sell for shares from price swings because of Goreng especially when the underlying fundamentals are good.

As long as we understand that it is herd behaviour than it is good enough la.
We cannot stop the herd, can only get out of the way and pick up the pieces afterwards.
It is what it is.

The herd is right for slaughter la when they don't know what they're reading or why they're doing whatever they're doing.
If you choose to be part of the herd and don't think about what is going on, you run the risk of losing money.

You are probably right on the warrants part. Cause they are one of the bigger market makers for it.

It' just business no hard feelings they would say

Like the IBs who created the CDOs and then bought CDSs against those CDOs.
And the Ratings agencies who couldn't but rate those tranches of dogshit MBSs as AAA.
The BIG Short, great movie.

Oh man, the people who panic sold all their gloves last week must feel really silly now
*
cannot be like that.
they did what they thought was best at the time.
we all have different thresholds for paper loss and mental strain.
stock trading is about looking forward.
if not, you will be kicking yourself everytime you sold before the day's high.
