quite aggressive short in the morning first 30 mins
TG - 313,700
Harta - 117,500
Spmx -81,600

Been shorting averagely 1.8m on TG on daily basis recently.

Guess all current funds flow into oversold tech for the time being. nasdaq huge rebound yesterday
*
thanks for info.

at this rate, TG will be >3.2% very soon.

harta should hold well today, last day cum dividend.

I would suggest bpplastic if you are more concern about sustainable dividend. Their history of earning does support its dividend payout. In other word, cash cow. They also have expansion plan but not as aggressive as others like thing guan or daibochi

Pphb has been poor on its dividend payout. Got earnings but no idea where it went.

Master is similar to Pphb

Please take note bpplastic is sensitive to resin and OnG price,
Where master and Pphb is sensitive to paper and pulp price
They do not belong to similar industry

I glanced at it .... but did not want to look inside. LOL!

I think la ..... best do nothing with tech sector for now....

most of the leaders really need to digest their hefty gains ( or you can say ... most of the stocks are already at very optimistic pricing )
and as you know me ... when the leaders don't lead ... best don't itchy behind la.

The Yanks have like 36% of their own vaccinated and they started partying like there's no tomorrow.........reckless? Or just wanna kill off as many republicans as possible?
Everyone thought India had some kind of inbuilt immunity and they probably believed it themselves to their detriment! Sadly, the light at the end of that long tunnel is getting dimmer.

Sit and play spider season.
Today a little tired, THREE different people in my office wanted to get my views on Tenaga as a good dividend stock. I surrender to Malaysian beliefs.

This is 5 year chart of Tenaga.

Use 2016 as starting point. The chart is 'unadjusted for it's dividends' etc...
I use this so that I have the actual reference price of what Tenaga was trading at during that time...

user posted image

Tenaga last 5 years profits...

2016 -- 7.368 Billion
2017 -- 6.904 Billion
2018 -- changed calendar year ... doh.gif so I use profit of 3.724 Bil (ignoring 4 months profit of 2.756 Billion)
2019 -- 4.529 Billion
2020 -- 3.593 Billion

Clearly, despite the so-called monopoly business status, Tenaga does not have a strong moat on its profits. ( Yup, there are many who has been misguided. They believe that monopoly business is a sure win but clearly it's not.

Logically and understandably, its business is affected if there is a change of government or change of govt policy.

The confirmation that Tenaga's earnings was declining...

user posted image

Nov 2018 and it's marked with the dotted lines on the chart below... was it or was it not a good time to sell?

user posted image

The dividends...

user posted image

So if one had purchased on May 2016 (5 years ago ma...)

The price would be around 14.00.

user posted image

the dividends collected since then...

32 sen + 61 sen + 21.41sen + 53.27 sen + 100 sen + 80 sen = 347.68

Price of Tenaga as of yesterday closing is 9.95.

Current share price + total dividends collected => 9.95 + 3.4768 = 13.4268.

cost of investment was 14.00.

err... macam rugi duit sikit..... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Now get this... if sold at Nov 2018.. once the profits showed very clear sign of declining....

user posted image

one could have cash out at 14.80 (which means a 80 sen profit)

and the dividends collected would be 32 sen + 61 sen + 21.41 sen + 30.27 sen = 144.68 sen!

So profits would have been 80sen + 144.68 sen!!

wow!!

which again reflects what I have been saying.... dividends is and always is a bonus.
The dividend cannot be the sole reason why one invest in a share.

That is a good reference for Tenaga believers.
Dividends cannot rarely survive capital depreciation.

The scenario of selling in Nov 2018 invovles a bit if timing the market too.
If one can time the market, there is much more to be made without relying on dividends.

And to tie up the entire dividend scenario, it also applies on your views on some companies which are cash rich right now, no? biggrin.gif
Much cash but downwards trajectory.

tenaga QR reported net profit on Nov came in at 501 million only wo... that was such a nasty drop.

It was really funny.
The whole idea, all the time was the explosive growth in earnings....
and then because the stock was falling, the whole goalpost shifted...
The reason to buy the stock was shifted as a dividend play.
