Only for the brave or foolish? Will the glove stocks continue to drop non-stop for the next 1 week and lead us all to Holland? Or will the glove stocks rebound handsomely next week and give us a handsome reward instead?

For glove need to make sure tomorrow it rebound, else will have to deal with all those margin traders that buy for the split

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Thursday on heavy selling of glove stocks, especially Top Glove and Hartalega, which help drag the FBM KLCI down nearly 1.5%.

At 5pm, the KLCI was down 22.14 points or 1.44% to 1,515.40. Turnover was 9.41 billion shares valued at RM5.42bil. There were 315 gainers, 873 losers and 377 counters unchanged.

Dealers said some investors were selling their original Top Glove shares which went ex on Thursday while waiting for the bonus shares to be credited into their accounts on Monday.

Top Glove shares had adjusted from RM26.08 on Wednesday to RM8.70 sen, based on the two-for-one ratio. Hence, with the share price closing down 32 sen to RM8.37 on Thursday, theoretically the investors would have lost 96 sen.

Hartalega closed down lost RM1.50 to RM13.86 while Kossan was down RM1.12 to RM14.

Supermax, whose one-for-one bonus shares go ex on Friday, ended the day down RM20.33. Its share price will be adjusted to RM10.16.

On the selling of glove makers, dealers said investors were taking money off the table while there were also concerns about syndicates pushing up the stocks and dumping them later.

Other counters which closed lower were Nestle, down RM2 to RM139.80 and Carlsberg 90 sen to RM21.

HLFG was the top gainer, up 44 sen to RM13.78, Batu Kawan 32 sen to RM15.38, SJC 25 sen to 95 sen, Time Com 22 sen to RM11.74 and Tasco 14 sen to RM1.43.

Vitrox gained 32 sen to RM12.82.
