i sold off my MBB cause i am scared it follows the foreign banks.. OCBC down damn alot too..
*
I took out 2/3 of it and reinvest in Comfort and MuiProp. They should help to reduce the losses from the sale.

hi fellow investors, traders, scalpers...
i am very curious why a lot of you keep saying the end of loan moratoriums will cause ppl to take their money out from bursa? Even when hse, car or ptptn loans resume, you are not gonna pay what you owe from the past 6 months in one shot. You are paying in monthly installments, hence i cannot understand how or why it should drag the market down?
*
Think of it this way. You're supposed to pay RM 1k per month for your house or car loans. Then the moratorium happens, and you have extra spare cash lying around (let's say RM 6k).You go to the stock market and "gamble" by buying shares like gloves, and earned quite a sum from it.

Now, when moratorium ends and people starts paying the loans again, they have a choice:-

a) sell the shares with profit, and pay the loans with the extra cash used to buy them.... or
b) wait for their salaries to come out at end of the month to pay, while remain the shares and hopefully it will continue to rise?

Which one you think is the better option for most ppl?

Last Friday, HLB said in a Bursa filing that the dividend is subject to shareholders' approval in the group's forthcoming annual general meeting (AGM).

It was reported that HLB recorded a net profit drop to RM569.42 million for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2020 (4QFY20), from RM636.45 million a year earlier, while revenue grew to RM1.2 billion from RM1.17 billion.

For the full FY20, it was reported that its net profit fell to RM2.49 billion, from RM2.66 billion a year earlier, although revenue grew to RM4.78 billion from RM4.73 billion.

Net profit drop, but still declare 20 cents dividend.... *looks at Maybank*

Well, from the replies above, we are making assumptions that a lot of ppl are either :
- retrenched or having pay cuts
- not playing/investing with spare cash
- short term players
- pessimistic about the market

Then how about if we have these sets of players ;
- not retrench but may have some pay cuts
- have access liquidity (known of a number of banks offering loans with 2.99-3.15% interest rates)
- have access funds which is better park in bursa rather than the lowly FD rates
- optimistic about the market. Since the start of Mac/April more new players joined in and i do not foresee most of them leaving the market soon. Its like once the bursa bugs bite you, you are stuck here?

Appreciate all feedbacks negative or positives. Tks

I have most of my money in FDs, but rates are just.... pathetic, to say the least. If not because I need to keep them in cases of emergency and for future uses, I would have put even more in stocks now.
