QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Feb 19 2021, 12:46 AM)
I entered too late. The valuation is too rich for me now. I would be lucky to even get 7% profit based on my entry price today.
Kenanga gave it a TP of 3.10 so no worries I guess?STOCK MARKET DISCUSSION V150

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Feb 21 2021, 11:36 PM) What is your average acquisition price? I entered quite high and averaged down for the whole of 2020 only to be disappointed by the sleeping giant. It has good fundamentals though, what’s your reason for not waiting and holding for a longer term? |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Feb 22 2021, 09:32 AM) RM2. I let my losses run deep, so no more of this moving forward...I want to die die one time pain cut those I don't plan to keep for long if they incur beyond 10-15%. RM2 is pretty high for Serbadk in the short and medium term. My 1st buy was at rm1.9 before I slowly pulled it down to around 1.75-1.78.Fundamentals seem to be not a good reference point nowadays. I mean, I used that to keep those stocks I thought could at least maintain, or drop max 10% over the time, but presently, seems that this doesn't work well with me cuz eventually they go >30% lower, sigh...maybe just my luck too. I won't say I'm very experienced in value investing, but it's been preached by the many experts again and again that over the long run, the most important thing to look at is the company's fundamentals (value investing). What companies are you bullish on? 3. Would you hold shares until end of 2021? If yes, what are those? 4. Even if price dropped 50%, which ones which you will never touch? 2. GenM (on vaccination), aviation (but beware of fund raising), banking, TnB, O&G counters 3. Serbadk, GenM, KGB (based on the subsequent QRs) 4. The goreng stocks |

QUOTE(thecurious @ Feb 22 2021, 05:21 PM) Since you are so interested in serbadk, you should have noticed the multiple private placements throughout 2020 right? many people dont like it. As stated above there wasn’t multiple PP.you bought some in there? I was interested in that counter but end up didnt buy lol What I really hate about the PP is that it’s sold on a discount rather than a premium and it’s reserved for insiders. I didn’t have the chance to participate, only ended up with the share value diluted by 10% as the result of increasing shares after PP That said the PE is still very attractive from a value investing PoV |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Feb 23 2021, 05:20 PM) My hard lesson in investment. I posted it here before in March 2020 and some of the forumers here laughed their head off. But it's OK. I got no ego issue. Thanks for sharing with us your wisdom and experience here! How old are you though? Why do they call you unker here?To re-cap. Sometimes in April 2017, I had a hot run in Bursa. Gold finger. Nearly every single stock that I bought went up. By October 2017, my unrealised profit was about RM110K. Not including dividend payment of about RM14K for the year. Usual story. I got cocky. Nothing can wrong. No cut loss policy. Even when the TA and FA turned sour. Fast forward. By 2019, loss of about RM190K. Overall portfolio down by -50%. Moral of the story. Please learn from my mistakes. Decide early. 1. Are you a trader or a long term investor? 2. To average down or to cut loss when the stock is down -10%? 3. Do you have an entry and exit plan? 4. Diversify across different sectors if possible. 5. For investors, what is your definition of long term? Anything less than 1 to 2 years is only short term. P/S: Paper trading or doing things in theory is very different from practice. Read more investment books and trading books. Do not trade stocks with money that you cannot afford to lose. It is a one way road to Holland. My 2 cents... |
