High-ranking White House officials are set to receive some of the first coronavirus vaccines in the United States, according to a White House official and a person familiar.

Those vaccinations, which could begin as soon as this week, would come while the vaccine is in extremely limited supply and only generally available to high-risk health care workers.

Your news is old news, after the media came out with high ranking officials taking the vaccines, trump follows up with a denial tweet.

"The President, however, tweeted Sunday evening that White House staffers should receive the vaccine "somewhat later in the program, unless specifically necessary."

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Tesla, the U.S. automaker, will send delegations to Indonesia next month to discuss potential investment in a supply chain for its electric vehicles, the government said on Saturday in a statement.

that is why most of my investments are over the seas too

Msia not only brain drain, good and profitable local companies are also moving overseas, don't say about new foreign companies coming here. Hopeless politikus everyday. In the next 10 years, what is left in Bursa would be jaguh kampung companies only. Better move your funds to foreign bourses.

I concurred with medelite23 about these glove companies having bundles of cash to expand, automate and thus generating bigger profits in the future. The saying money makes money is so true in this case. Other companies are busy with debt restructuring, just surviving and may not even survive post Covid.
So let’s talk about outlook on Covid. Would it go away with vaccines or not? I have mentioned earlier my crystal ball predictions that Covid is here to stay. There are many factors that contribute to crystal ball predictions, not pluck from the sky, yeah! There are five doctors, two nurses, one pharmacist and one phd in epidemiology in my immediate family practising in US, UK, Australia and Singapore. Information derived from professional outlook doesn’t paint a rosy picture on the vaccines for now. Plus western countries are now easing their admission criteria and regulations for foreign born and trained doctors. There are a lot of openings for international doctors to work in their countries unlike pre Covid when it is much harder to get work permit/visa. Why is that so? Think about it and make your own conclusion!

Peter Lynch once said “Investing in stocks is an art, not a science, and people who’ve been trained to rigidly quantify everything have a big disadvantage.” There are more to stock market than looking at data, calculation or the the need to quantify based on some mathematical formula. To each his own, there is no right or wrong to what suits each individual preference or beliefs. I for one treat stock market as a science and an art.

@medelite23 - Just to be clear on gloves usage amongst frontliners in msia, is it true you wear 3 layers of gloves when taking swabs for covid testing?

Don't shoot me. I am just a messenger. Lots of debates out there whether there is a cover up about her fainting by the FDA.

Another case in Alaska.

In most of these cases, the recipients are not aware they have any allergies. Hence the danger associated with Pfizer due to many "unknown" factors. They are lucky because as medical personnel and being the first batch to receive the vaccine, more care is in hand to deal with any emergencies. I doubt msia n most countries have such level of care. Not gonna be a guinea pig

If not mistaken hartalega also installed the renewable energy in their Ngc factories. Gas takes up a big chunk of the manufacturing costs, hence the move to renewable energy is a good investment.

Mswg should also include TP set by other investment houses instead of using JPM. That would be a fairer representation like someone mentioned before. Discard the highest and lowest TP to get the median average

You could always write in to MSWG. smile.gif

I said it b4. The earnings trend is the same within research houses like Macquarie, CIMB, Kenanga, TA. I have not seen JP actual report but they are saying the same thing in their estimates table. Huge profit in 2021 and then huge decline in 2022. Problem is Macquarie and probably JP Morgan called it as it is but our local research houses, despite having the same earnings trend, refuses to do so.

How then?
I have to say that someone even mentioned that icap is calling a sell on TG

Met an interesting gentleman yesterday during one of my "staycation cum interview" period. Guy is 60 years old and has been investing with his first pay check since thirty five years ago. Reason he did so was because in his line of work, he met many people who lived hand to mouth existence even in their old age. Since he didn't want to end up like them, he started an investment portfolio that grew and grew until he is a billionaire now. Amongst his holdings are Nestle, PBB, HLB, Hartalega, Topglove, Kossan, United Plantation and KLK.

His parting advise -
投资掌握到好,不必做到老
translation : hold your investment properly, then you don't have to work till you are old.

forgot to add this : his biggest regret now is he didn't have smax in his portfolio bangwall.gif

More grim news - new strain of covid that is more virulent and may make vaccine ineffective, tier 4 lockdowns causing Londoners to flee the capital inadvertently spreading the virus, more adverse reaction from Pfizer jab....plus all the negative press reports on TG...crystal ball said time to go in

This the reason why Smax doesn't do SBB. As I mentioned before, they are a growing company, hence need the funds to expand their operations.

the "big crash" has been touted for years, if not decades! biggrin.gif

it will come... question is when will it come and if covid will bring to on faster - 2021? 2022?

really, if we seriously look around... hawkers barely surviving; many shops closing; SME's in trouble; people losing jobs... etc.

construction and factories struggling with covid cases., new rules, foreign worker problems.

even GP clinics, dental clinics are closing... i haven't been to one for a year!

how can properties, malls, leisure, airlines, hotels, banks recover so quickly to make big profits?!

miracle vaccines will come and revert everything in a few months time? i doubt it.

we may have to put up with this for a few years. recovery? not so fast, i think.
i wud like to invest in FOOD... but there are no fully integrated food co. stocks in bursa - we import most of our food; at best, we light process and repackage only.

any suggestion?

I definitely agree its high time to focus on issues such as food security in the midst of fighting covid 19. Tons of write-up is available online about this issue, hence i wouldn't delve into it here. When it comes to food, ppl usually focus on palm plantations and poultry farming (chicken and eggs) in Bursa. Why not look into the micro level of food industry such as those that supply the livestock feeds, antibiotic, vitamins, pesticides, herbicides and etc. The industries here provide support to agricultural, aquaculture, fisheries and husbandry which in my opinion is crucial in ensuring food security. There are a few public listed companies that I can think offhand - plabs, smcap, hextar, rhonema, tecguan and pwf. Some are well run, some are poorly run. Do your homework

Do you know, Singapore for example needs to import 90% of their food. And where do you think majority of the supplies come from?

MOH now also gave up. So many cases cannot handle, so ask you to self isolate at home even if covid positive. You think we all stay in bungalow?. Everyone got their own rooms?. Studies have shown majority of the people who got covid are on the lower scale of income, not those helang categories. That's how community spread becomes a wildfire. Maybe we would hit 5k in 2 weeks time, no need wait until Feb.
