Joining him was Teng Chee Wai, Managing Director of Affin Hwang Asset Management, who commented on listed companies and ESG ratings.

"We want companies to be socially responsible. Don't contaminate the river, it's not a good thing for the long term sustainability of the country. I can tell you that in 5 or 10 years, every company in Malaysia will need to have the ESG rating. And if their rating is low, institutional investors will not invest in them. That's something every company listed in Malaysia must understand," Teng says.
