Yes. Short trips are the pain in the ass. We have to go through the stress of caught in jam etc for 2 - 3 ringgits income. 

Best if u enrol as driver. Drive 1-2 days in busy areas u know already

This few weeks the Uberx fare is very high due to the surge pricing caused by all the 0.99 trips high demand.

As a driver, doing all this 0.99 trips also is quite ok cause Uber top up all the fare and also the surge. Every morning I start driving at 7am do mostly all this 0.99 trips before 10am already nett 100. In certain ways better than long distance, purely due to the surge.

Anyone else has the same income as ieian81 ?

I usually drive around 4-5 hours on weekdays (in CSA).
Previously, netting 100-150 is common.
On Fridays, it's 200-250.
Now ? Not even 100. Lucky day can get above 100 lar.
But out of so many days, only 1-2 lucky days ?

Admit it lar, income dropped about 30-50% after the promotion ended. Same driving hours, same pattern, same fuel consumption - only less income, a lot less.

I asked some riders and they said the fare is same as GC. They used to choose Uber because it's more economical. Now, we have lost our advantage over GC already.
I think it's due to the insane surges during the 0.99 promo. So it has done more harm to their own customer base rather than boosting it.
So now you guys understand why so less ping nowadays ?

（吉隆坡27日讯）怀孕6个星期孕妇坐优步“贼车”案，受害者黄美欣（26岁）今日证实流产，失去胎儿让她悲痛欲绝。

黄美欣在一项新闻发布会上指出，21日被抢后以及昨日，她都曾前往诊所和妇科照超声波，当时胎儿还安好。岂料，周五下午开始小量出血，今日凌晨3时则大量出血，她便立即前往沙登医院检查，证实胎儿已流产。

她把责任归咎于优步公司，指责该公司在案发后没有第一时间给予她协助，以及跟警方充分配合，加上劫后她一直担心受怕，辗转难眠，在情绪不稳定下，最终导致胎儿不保。

在整个新闻发布会的过程中，黄美欣不断拭泪，更伤心地哭诉：“还回孩子给我！”。

黄美欣是在丈夫张浈雄的陪同下，在民政党雪州主席拿督洪进达按排的记者会上，如是指出，更要求优步给予她合理的交代。

她说，优步至今都没有给予她交代，只有一名自称是优步公司代表的男子两度联络她。

她投诉称，该男子在第2次联络她时，曾语带威胁的问她要什么。

此案于本月21日晚上在雪州蒲种再也发生，黄美欣当时乘搭优步，惟在坐进车内之后，才发现前座还有另一名巫裔“乘客”，该名“乘客”之后突然亮出小刀，威胁受害者交出财物，得逞之后，优步司机将她丢在路边，之后碰上好心司机，才被载往警局报案。

据警方的消息，优步司机嫌犯已于本月24日被捕，并在25日被押往推事庭获延扣7天，直到本月31日。

惟该司机否认认识该名“乘客”，警方目前正努力追查这名“乘客”嫌犯。

自称优步人员致电妻子 张浈雄：语带威胁口吻

张浈雄（31岁，小贩）则指出，从本月21日案发过后的当晚一直到隔天早上，他们不断联系优步的客户服务热线，前后多达16次，都没有人搭理他们。

迟至3天后，才有一名自称来自优步的人员致电给妻子，惟其语带威胁的口吻，张氏指导致其妻子情绪激动。

黄美欣对优步公司感到很不满，不明白为何他们可以允许拥有2项犯罪纪录的人成为优步司机，根本是不顾乘客的安全。

“我们前后报警两次，警方也表示要取得优步提供司机行程的卫星资料，但优步人员却一直以需要获得相关单位指示后，才可以放行。我不明白，只是把资料通过电邮转发过去，这么简单的步骤，优步却做不到。”

她也点出，优步拥有卫星系统，但为何优步在司机绕路时，却没有及时发现及阻止，或去追踪这名司机的行踪。

张浈雄表示，根据正常程序，一旦优步司机绕路，公司理应联系司机询问为何没有依照原本路线行驶。#

若电子召车司机违法 陆交委会：充公车辆

如果电子召车服务公司或属下司机违法，陆路公共交通委员会将采取行动对付，以及充公司机的车辆。

陆交会说，虽然最近发生优步（Uber）司机抢劫女乘客事件是警方权限下的罪案，不过该委员会严正看待此事。

它今日发文告，呼吁优步立即重新检讨遴选司机的过程。

“国会（预料于今年7月）通过电子召车条例后，电子召车服务公司将负责执行安全标准及提供最高的服务素质。”

它说，在2010年陆路公共交通法令修正案下，电子召车司机需向陆交会注册，并接受其他执法机构，如警方和陆路交通局的严格检查。

它赞赏警方迅速逮捕涉案的22岁男子进行调查，陆交会将在必要时给予合作。#

i spoke to a Grab recruiter and according to her, as long as your car looks good and still in good condition, it is allowed to drive even though it's 10 years old. I will go to Grab instead. in these trying times, better not buy a car when Uber cannot guarantee the same amount of money make for the same amount of work.

after all with SPAD, JPJ and LHDN wanting to monitor and tax ride hailing drivers, it is also a "blessings" that i got force retirement. it will be challenging for drivers to earn with low fares / incentives and taxation.

Actually I don't want to take him but because pity him no transport back, so, I did good thing to send him back.

Charges is only RM60. Really not worth it but at least happy to do good thing.

Uber have added tipping and more new features in US! Hope it will come soon to Malaysia woot!

what to do, it is rider who pay the commission fee to Grab/ Uber, not driver. Suck it up bro 

It matters of time before Uber will remove the cancellation fee just like they removed the waiting time into the fare

My monthly gross income from Uber is on the average 8500. Take this as a fact, I have shown enough statements here to not having to post it again.

My petrol cost is 20%. Purely for Uber.

My car installment is 470.

I service car once a month. RM250.

Petrol price also increase ma. 
Anyway, smart calculative passenger will always use both apps and check the price since both also using upfront pricing now.
But if in a hurry, then they will request via both apps. See whoever estimate time arrival nearer then cancel the other one.
