Hows the Grab income lately? I fetched some Grab drivers told me they gave up, too saturated with too many Grab drivers not enough demand.

Is this true?
*
Maybe they all converge on the same pond, like our taxi drivers instead of driving around looking for passengers.

The fact they can see where the customers wanna go and reject that request doesn't help

i am trying to do a schedule ride

however i don't see schedule button shown in uber website

any advise?

See that the search box above, there's a car icon on the right hand side....that's the schedule button. If it wasn't there, then your area doesn't support schedule ride as yet. Not all areas support schedule ride.

Taxi drivers now agree to work with Uber

KUALA LUMPUR: As the adage goes, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

That’s exactly what a group of taxi companies is doing by teaming up with Uber, the ride-hailing service that provoked angry protests from taxi drivers when it first arrived on the scene.

Big Blue Taxi Services founder Shamsubahrin Ismail said a coalition of taxi companies and associations (Gabungan Persatuan dan Syarikat-syarikat Teksi Semenanjung Malaysia) would sign an MoU with Uber tomorrow which would enable some 500 taxi drivers to leverage the app.

“This will allow the taxi industry and Uber to coexist, especially since SPAD has given Uber the green light to operate,” he said, alluding to the Land Public Transport Commission.

Shamsubahrin said it would benefit taxi drivers to share a platform with Uber, whose strong reach would enable them to earn more.

“All taxi drivers need to do now is improve their services.”

Shamsubahrin was previously at the forefront of protests against Uber and Grab, that were labelled as “illegal taxi drivers”.

At one point, he threatened to take legal action against the ride-sharing services.

In May last year, Shamsubahrin even launched a taxi-hailing app, said to have been developed at a cost of RM700,000, to help taxi drivers boost their income after they suffered significant losses due to competition from Uber and Grab.

Shamsubahrin’s U-turn with regard to Uber comes two months after he openly apologised to SPAD for lashing out at the commission over its failure to rein in the ride-sharing services.

E-Hailing Law Reforms To Be Tabled Next Week
P Prem KumarFriday, March 10, 2017

Amendments to the laws which will open the door for the legalisation of e-hailing services in the country, will be tabled at the Dewan Rakyat next week.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the amendments to the Land Transport Act 2010 and the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987, are to be tabled for first reading next week, and the second reading and deliberation will be rushed within the next three weeks.

The amendments will be pushed to remove the ongoing uncertainties over the legality for the e-hailing sector in the country.

“We will table it next week and will settle the second reading in this sitting itself... it is very important to rush it,” she told The Malaysian Reserve yesterday.

Nancy said the amendments to the two laws would allow the government to implement various programmes and reforms to ensure a level playing field between the taxi industry and e-hailing service providers, besides injecting a regulation into the sector.

In August last year, the Cabinet gave the Land Public Transport Commission the green light to regulate e-hailing services providers — namely Uber and Grab.

The emergence of both companies has since drawn the ire of taxi drivers since last year, resulting in street protests and even assaults on Uber and Grab drivers.

Consumers welcomed the entry of these ride-hailing services after years of dis- pleasure over taxi drivers overcharging, refusing to take passengers and providing poor service quality.

There are some 77,000 registered taxi drivers nationwide as at the end of last year. Over the next three years, an estimated 150,000 new individual taxi, Uber and Grab drivers are expected to be providing services to the public despite improvements to the public rail system.

Meanwhile, Nancy said Malaysia will have to look at nuclear power as an energy alternative in the long term instead of being seen as a threat.

She said Malaysia is dependent on coal, gas and solar for energy, while solar has yet to reach the level desired by the government.

“Sooner or later, coal’s availability will dwindle and we will have to be ready for nuclear power as an energy source.

“Even if we decide now to implement it, it will take up to 2030 for Malaysia to host its first nuclear plant,” she pointed out.

Nancy said the Cabinet will be briefed on the Phase 1 final report of the Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review, which concluded that Malaysia is prepared to make a decision on nuclear energy.

The report — issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency — had indicated that Malaysia is prepared and has a considerable base of know- ledge to make an informed decision on the introduction of nuclear power into its power generation mix.

Hi all, now that upfront fare is implemented, is it still possible for a rider to request for multiple stops in a ride? Eg. pick up from A then go to B and final drop off at C.
*
Upfront fare thereafter doesn't apply, only normal rate applies. Drivers need to inform Riders about that.

hi guys. i just started doing uberX. usually start from my area, bangi. usually will get rider going to putrajaya or klia2. but i got problems when rider want to go to KL area like kl sentral etc. i don't know where to wait to get customer. so i often go back to seri kembangan/serdang/bangi area. there i know i rugi already.

any advice on what to do after dropping rider at KL? i dont know KL road so i need gps guidance to go to any landmark/area like petrol station if i want to wait for ping.
*
Instead of going back via Sungai Besi Highway, why don't you take the route of Cheras, Balakong, Kajang and to Bangi itself.

BTW, Bangi got lots of pings?
