Dear fellow UBER-men~

A quick question. Upon entering KLIA area and are in queue, will I get to pick up rider from either side (KLIA1 & KLIA2)? Or each side is a different queue? Thanks.

FYI~ Am 3 weeks new with Uber-ing.

Dear fellow UBER-men,

I'm here to share and giving heads-up. Shortening everything

Picked up a bunch of tourists (happy-fruit people) yesterday around 6pm at Jalan Alor, destination to KLCC. It took 50mins for 2.5km. What I got was a RM10.47 fare. Happy riders, upset driver. (not my first case, happened before)

Next, I decided to make a report to UBER to look into in and hoping they will adjust it. In short, since there's no major detour nor changes in destination, the fare was calculated base on historical data and bla bla.. they are honoring the upfront vehicle pricing system even in such condition. What I saw is, Rider is happy, UBER got flaw, and Driver will be f***ed.

It is at driver disadvantages to drive in such condition, heavy rain, unexpected traffic congestion. (I barely move 100m in 15mins at some point). I should have listen to my gut to get out KL around 5pm when I saw the sky getting darker. Why I stay and continues? What all of us love, the RED.

Next time, in such scenario, I will stay away KL even peak to 2.0x surge. Is a no no experience.

All of you sendiri pandai pandai calculate.. you may get 2.0x surge higher but it takes longer time to get to rider, rider end up cancelling it within 5min. Surge system is real time. In 1 min surged till high high.. in next few minutes starting to drop.. pray your rider don't cancel within 5 mins.. if you manage to get to rider, pray the traffic condition is not standstill because your car FC (fuel consumption) vs. Uber's UVP (upfront fare)

Lesson learned. Moving forward. Cheers and drive safe, guys.

You're right if you already got a rider. My heads-up intention is for next request if the traffic condition still persist.

I wouldn't and couldn't stop any of you to continue in such scenario. Maybe ain't bad as mine, and maybe same fate. *touch wood. 😅

Ding-dong-ed a few replies. First one was a scripted answer, bold keywords (not surprising), saying she checked the fare calculation is correct and bla bla explanation and policy, request to escalate. I tested them by asking how the surge is calculated, and again my "ass-pain" condition with running engine. Guess what, an improved scripted answer! and still bold keywords. You will feel a little offended when you read it, treating me like a primary kid. I asked a simple answer, not asking for double check nor more explanations. I told them this is a flaw in the system and I even suggest how to overcome this (gave them a win-win situation) between all parties.

Third reply, was to thank me for the input and they will so-call review internally. You better improve, UBER! No point to ding-dong anymore with front-line "answers".

Same happened to me, got assigned to so-called-nearer rider. End up even further and more turns to take. Another flaw. We should have given the right to accept and reject as we see fit, not forcibly.

Just being positive and hoping they will take note for it and make a change. Honestly, I won't bother them to pay me to shut me up. I would rather them to really look into common complaints, take actions, and make improvements. Simple as that. wink.gif

May I ask you a question, how long had you been driving Uber?

Can't say I am experienced Uber driver, I start driving in 2016, stop late last year...sad to say, been writing countless to them, giving suggestion, but, end of day, no changes at all....which I would say, many would agree with me, Uber only have their own fee interest and passenger interest, none for their so called partner.

So, if you expecting Uber to take your suggestion, I would say, unless it benefits them, or passengers....don't expect it. This also one of reason why I stop driving altogether, as I feel it does not make any economical sense to even drive for part time

Thanks. It has been near 2 months, part-time during weekdays and full for weekends. For me, a little side income, learning roads, checking out places, and meeting people. I will try to make a complaint whenever I see a flaw, for least I've done my part. It's up UBER if they wanna thrive in the competition.

I got a case to contend with your 5.
It happened on this Fri, 21st, location at Cyberjaya.

A request came in around 8:30pm to pick up at The Place. 10 seconds later, the rider called me and said, "Can you faster?" And as usual to reply politely to rider that am on my way (5 mins, 2.2km), meet her in 5 mins. She's with 2 of her friends, dressed in Hijab, and hopped in. Greeted them but ain't any reply from them. Okay, proceeding to start the trip, and to my surprise.. destination is Limkokwing. I was like.. A-VERY-BIG-WTF! (FYI, The Place and Limkokwing is just 300m apart, side-by-side)

Fine, I drove them to LKW. Wished them to have a good evening and proceeding to conclude the fare, I heard one of her friend said it's free. My thought if is free then it would be discounted. They got out of my car and I'm still trying to "Complete Trip". IT COULDN'T be completed due to the distance is too SHORT! (again, A-VERY-BIG WTF). I was force to cancel the trip and couldn't rate their sorry-arses. They're willing to wait 5 mins but not willing to walk.

In short, they know of this flaw and manipulate it.

They are foreigners students, and they requested the ride under cash payment. I reported to UBER and got compensated more than I expect, i.e. RM9.27. Straight away give thumbup.gif for the report and keep my mouth shut. whistling.gif

I'm still new, part-time for near 2 months.

Is your WAZE version 4.23.03? That version got problem (for me and many other as reported WAZE's comment section in Play Store), such as stopped working all of sudden, couldn't switching back from UBER to WAZE, it ran from background but wouldn't forward to screen. I downgraded it to last stable version, 4.22.1.0 and it works perfectly fine today.

Not sure if latest 4.23.04 fixed the problem.

There~~ near half of sifu's income for 40+/- hours. Part-time earning and I can't be doing this for long as I do have a full time job, flexible time at the moment.

I tend to stray away from city center and some "hot" spots traffic if can. And I would rather stay offline and rest if unfortunately ended up surrounded by heavy congestion. Still a "Hell NO!" even it's highly surging with upfront system.

UBER will provide reason why they rejected yours. Could be UBER didn't "see" the commencing & expiry date of the policy?

Anyhow, you can email and request a soft-copy of your policy from ETIQA and re-upload the document to UBER. (Hard-copy policy takes time to mail it to you)
