Uber is actually a cashless system so i think SPAD could not take any action on you whether you have PSV or not doesn't really matter, your main concern would be the taxi drivers in KL

currently base fare is RM0.95 + RM 0.60/km with RM0.25/min compare to previously RM1.50+RM0.60 with RM0.25/min for UberX

yes the driver can reject by calling the rider and cancel the trip. the rider can complain to uber and u may get banned.

don't be too picky with the destinations... it will make uber drivers no difference from taxi drivers.

Guaranteed rates is like the minimum earnings that you will earn. For example for a time block eg 4pm to 8pm (where guaranteed earnings is at rm18/hr).

Situation 1. Ur average earnings is rm15/hr. Uber will top up additional rm3/hr, bringing ur earnings to rm18/hr.

Situation 2. Ur average earnings is rm20/hr. Since ur earnings is higher than the guaranteed rates, the guaranteed rates will nt kick in and u still get rm20/hr.

Summary: Guaranteed rates are like a safety net.

Hi Schok.  I am new and had only experienced 2 surge trip so far.  Both also happened when I was near the surge area... so kind of lucky for me.  Maybe it is not worth to drive long distance to surge area.

Should be immediate if all your documents complete and submitted.

Cannot one. Uber credit card only. They do that then just charge on the credit card. who wants to see they buta buta kena charge on the credit card? I wont do something stupid like that.

Interesting question. Last weekend I took an uber and had a chat with the driver. I ordered UberX and the rider is doing full time 6AM - 8PM everyday inc Sundays. He told me that his earnings shown in the app on average is 3-4k per month. If want to shoot more than that, he has to refer friends and earn the referral.

Thanks. It has been near 2 months, part-time during weekdays and full for weekends. For me, a little side income, learning roads, checking out places, and meeting people. I will try to make a complaint whenever I see a flaw, for least I've done my part. It's up UBER if they wanna thrive in the competition.

It happened on this Fri, 21st, location at Cyberjaya.

A request came in around 8:30pm to pick up at The Place. 10 seconds later, the rider called me and said, "Can you faster?" And as usual to reply politely to rider that am on my way (5 mins, 2.2km), meet her in 5 mins. She's with 2 of her friends, dressed in Hijab, and hopped in. Greeted them but ain't any reply from them. Okay, proceeding to start the trip, and to my surprise.. destination is Limkokwing. I was like.. A-VERY-BIG-WTF! (FYI, The Place and Limkokwing is just 300m apart, side-by-side)

Fine, I drove them to LKW. Wished them to have a good evening and proceeding to conclude the fare, I heard one of her friend said it's free. My thought if is free then it would be discounted. They got out of my car and I'm still trying to "Complete Trip". IT COULDN'T be completed due to the distance is too SHORT! (again, A-VERY-BIG WTF). I was force to cancel the trip and couldn't rate their sorry-arses. They're willing to wait 5 mins but not willing to walk.

In short, they know of this flaw and manipulate it.
