phew! completed 36 trips after two days driving! really tiring and not easy to get ping, maybe due to long weekend.
*
Can share how many of these trips are longer trips (>10 km)?

after driving with uber for 2 years, i can give u a very sound advice.

just cancel the trip if you see the pick up location is far away, need to pay toll to pick up or long time to reach there. it's not worth it. don't bother about acceptance rate, use the cancellation option to your advantage. after cancellation, you might get a rider which is nearby.
*
Just being lectured by one of the uber staff over phone:

1) driver not supposed to cancel any trip. 0% CR tolerance rate.

2) acceptance rate - must accept all jobs. 100%

LOL.

2) Acceptance rate got what bonus? Should ask the staff back. Any extra things keeping a high acceptance rate?

may be next time.

all of us are very loyal to uber 1 biggrin.gif

I would reckon Uber gonna add Acceptance Rate to get the Cash King incentive in the future.
Maybe like 80% before the end of  the week. When that happen you gonna see drivers oversupply on the road on weekends.

we must obey what uber want without asking any rewards in return. Must be Loyal. LOL

Actually i am really pissed off today.

I got a request, from a rider 5+km away, fine i go there.

Otw there (3km) away, there is a notifcation from Uber "We have matched you with a closer rider!"

Not sure if the earlier rider cancelled the ride or the Uber app system, suka hati changed to new rider??

Yes, it is closer but to get to the location, because i was on a flyover and the route to the pickup location was below the flyover, so had to exit from the highway, ok fine i will exit the next one and go to the new location

Then another same notification from Uber, (closer rider!), only it is NOT EVEN CLOSER! It's a 6km and going there took me 11 minutes.

Is this a new feature from Uber? If yes, i dont find it useful at all and very confusing!

edit: When i first doing Uber, this "close rider" as well as "accepting a trip while on a trip" were not there and i enjoyed it so much

Now this 2 things really drives me crazy
*
This is completely disrespect the driver. Driver should has the right to accept or reject any pings that assigned to them for whatsoever reason.

agreed. we should have at least the option to reject the ping. but ever since the RM1 promo stopped, i've never face this situation though. is there a promo going on these days that made this problem resurface?

Dont understand.
Promo create many users. High demand = high surge rate. That's the benefits of promo. If no promo, people will rather walk or take bus or LRT.

a lot of short distance trip.

AP is right +1.

Short distance trip means you can complete your quest faster.
I don't understand why I keep getting middle to long distance trips nowadays.
Even at short-trip ports also I get sent away.

I find it hard to complete 24 trips in 3 days  bye.gif
*
What about the area that u always give 1 star to the rider?
Also no short trips?

Maybe the server is preventing me from giving 1-star to its loyal customer LOLX...
*
How about giving 1 star rating to those long or mid distance trip riders since they deter you from Achieving the required no of trips? LOLX

How can do like this ? That means I need to give 1-star rating to all Uber customers.

It's unreasonable, will have karma some day in the future one. Now my rating also dropped a bit cos some riders give me back 1-star as retaliation LOLX...

can try UM - lingkungan budi
Lots of lovely cheapskate there

it may not be easy to score 5 stars from them.

I found out that senior drivers are not placing much emphasis on the rider ratings...it is quite subjective and out of our control sometimes.

Does it really matter at all as long as the rating don't go too low such as 4.1 etc that may trigger deactivating. I just came back from mid valley yesterday in uber car driver with rating 4.2x.

Took Uber a few times.
Normally those low rating must be something wrong with that particular driver.
Example, no use phone holder. use phone in hand while driving. wear slippers only. untidy car. not competent in using/following navigation software. etc.
But as a fellow driver myself, I will still rate them 5 stars. Cincai dont want to spoil other people periuk nasi.
*
Although I don't like the current rating system, I am kind of agree with that.

The driver with rating 4.2X was driving perodua viva - few things missing:

i) no greeting when I get in + thanks the rider at the end of trip. (I dont mind it so much by the way)
ii) the headrest at the back is rather low for tall people like me..it was arching the centre of my back rather than supporting my head.... Not comfortable for longer ride.
iii) small car (but still ok for me since I was alone) especially if there are 4 riders.
iv) Over the conversation, the driver confess that he having issue using the gps. But during my ride, it was okay.

Somehow, the pick up and dropped off are all ok and on time. He managed to find me at the midvalley coffee bean entrance.

So far, I only give either 5 stars or no rating at all to the uber or grabcar drivers. Normally I just tell the driver face to face on the problem and let him know that this are the thing likely drag his rating down....no point to let the driver getting the report which are not specific.

Anyway, seriously, why so worked out on rating? It does not mean anything either, it doesnt give u better incentives, etc...in fact, in my previous driving experience, got few times I got sms from Uber, claim that I was the top 1% rated drivers for the week....so what? Of course, I cheekly write to them, do I get any special incentives, any special award? Terus silent, no reply..... shakehead.gif

Further ask, then, standard auto reply, thank you for maintaining high level of customer service, your effort is highly appreciated...

that's precisely what some of the senior drivers told me.

QUOTE(ikanair @ May 6 2017, 02:12 PM)
1. Minimum fare of RM6, either charge to the passenger or Uber top up until RM6 (just like Grab).
- no Uber top-up, only cultivate a bunch of idiot riders and minimum should be RM8 (you want better service than taxi, you pay more)
- let the idiot+short distance riders go to GRAB (GRAB will be bleeding incentive ) kills two bird at same time

2. Uber commission is 20% same like the old days and same like those drivers still getting only 20% cut.
- 20% is vampire sucking blood, go 15% -> or refer 5.

3. Incentive:
a. bring back guarantee hourly rate of minimum RM40 per hour
- not sustainable in long run, you'll breed a whole bunch of drivers that only drive during incentive hours - like grab  smile.gif
b. Cash King promo should be at the very least average at RM5 per trip. (not like currently average can be only RM2 per trip only)  - N/A refer 1.

4. Uber always fock with drivers, that is how it feels, you want drivers? simple! treat drivers with some respect and be transparent about incentive/promo
- do away with different drivers get different boost/promo/incentive , where none knows how it is decided
- remove dynamic matching, if focking low rated riders could not find a driver, they totally deserved it

5. rewards your performing drivers
- they more they drive the better, the better the rewards/insentives i.e hit RM500, subsequent fares at 15% commission, hit RM1000, and it drops to 10%
- hit 4.7 above rating, commission reduce by 1%, above 4.9 reduce by 2%
- 100% acceptance - commission reduce by 1%
- none of these will cost Uber any $$ upfront, and sustainable in long run

Pickup distance more than 2km onwards, Uber will top up RM1 per km. (just like what Grab is doing now). Uber top up. not the passenger paying.
- no need Uber Pay, just increase the fare, passenger pay, simple
*
No 5 - sound like good idea.

but if uber really implement this,I foresee the low ratings driver with higher commissions may end up get more pings than lower commissions drivers....simple logic that all company want to max their profits.

uber don't think straight like us.

1. During promotion uber sometimes introduce minimum fare also like last 99cents promo
2. Promotion also to increase rider, more chance to surge
3. Grab able to see destination of course nicer than uber d, but this encourage taxi-like mindset la like side deal with extra charge also. Although this is still possible with uber but at least the system does not promote it
4. Grab incentive system also getting lesser and lesser value d.drivers slowly change towards fare driver rather than incentive driver.the incentive also when U not able to meet the requirement, it is super frustrating as fk, makes U wanna quit straightaway or become fare driver d

This is what I can comment la based on driving both uber and grab for part time, averaging about 20hrs a week in melaka/klang valley. For me grab able to thrive because they understand our mentality, while uber more suitable for first world country with first world mentality la. Grab every week also got something new while uber...maybe every 2 months lol
*
1. Only select area right got min fare and only to selected drivers? I didn't receive any notification.

I strongly support min fare idea - u want the comfort and good service, pls pay for it. At least rm8 or pls get other public transport/ taxi etc. the rider should encourage to take grabcar instead of uber for short trips as those incentives grabcar player love it so much.

don't expect high high when the riders only paid rm2- 5. We r doing charity work for u.
