want to ask sifu here. my car insurance almost expired soon. but after i renew, do i need to visit their office to refresh the status or email them or system so smart enough to refresh itself? hahaha

This is Johore Baru.  A quick comparison on the MYR rate, KL folk should be earn about 2X JB.  In JB, a lot of short trip and mostly got to travel  4 - 10 km for pick up.  For today (Friday), I got 14 out 22 trips are less that MYR10 fare.

Uber KL now have Driver Destinations. In some ways similar to GrabHitch where u only pick up rider heading the same direction as where u wanna go.

Nice feature for final trip of the day.

Any tips for new drivers?

Here are some pointers to riders from a driver's perspective (and regular rider):-

1) An accurate keying in of pickup location would be nice.

2) If you stay in a guarded scheme, a sms or a comment in the comment box stating your unit number would be appreciated.

3) We know you don't like to wait, but we are on the way as soon as we get the hail. Like wise, if you are not ready to go, please don't call for an Uber. We can understand if you are staying in a remote place and it's hard to get a Uber but if you are staying in a core area, please only call for one when you are ready to go. Yes, we are allowed to start the trip after 5 mins, but that will upset you isn't it? Which will result in low ratings.

4) We don't expect riders to be friendly, but I think a 'hello' an 'thanks' is not too much to expect.

5) There's only two ways to navigate. Either you guide us all the way, or we follow Waze all the way. Don't tell us to follow Waze but then question us why take this road that road during the trip.

6) It's ok to eat or drink, but would appreciate if you have the courtesy to just inform us, especially the eating part.

7) Be respectful, don't PDA in the car, it makes us uncomfortable. (I once fetched a couple who made out throughout the entire journey)

8) Whether you want to sit in front or the back, it's entirely up to you. But we appreciate it if you can sit in front (especially if you are a guy and going to a taxi hotspot area).

9) We can't stop our cars anywhere we want to pick you up or drop you, so let's be realistic about it. If you want me to pick you from the front door of a bar on Changkat BB, please very well be ready to go and waiting for me instead of me having to call you only you finish your last drink, muaks muaks with your friends only walk out.

10) We have no intention of trying to cheat you of your money. I personally find if very offensive if you turn on your Waze on your phone after specifically asking me to follow Waze to send you to your location. My Waze can't be rigged to bring you the furthest route wan. Hello?

I think the above are very basic stuff, which don't even need mentioning if you have common sense and courtesy. I am just writing it and putting it out here as a guide.

Sometimes feel mot worth drive in peak hour jam here amd there and the fee just 6-7 ringgit...

but so far, after driving for 6 months, my feedback from the apps is mainly on bad route/ city knowledge (3 times) and late arrival/ missed ETA (1 time), which I don't give a dammed, as I am not walking GPS, if the rider expect me to know all the routes, too bad, you better hire personal driver, either you guide me with your preferred route or I will follow GPS. Late arrival or missed ETA? Hello....I am religiously follow GPS to reach the rider, but, what can I do if the stupid Uber apps constantly under declared the ETA time?

Yesterday was not my day, received request with incomplete address, just show street name. Sms no reply, thought ok lah, drive towards there first, nearer to location, give the rider a call to ask exact location. Manatau, almost 200m to location, driving to about 4km, have not reach 5 min yet, the rider cancelled it        I sms the rider told the fella I am going to report it to uber, get the fella suspended. Lucky got another request come in and nearby.

Next time, if rider no give complete address, I will not even start my journey. I will sms them for exact location, reply or call me only I start. Else, you wait long long lah.

Usually i wont accept the ping > 5km or 10 min. Feel not worth the time and petrol.
Not sure about the 20 min u waited eligible get the waiting charge or nt since you rejected the ride.

Started off as Uber driver, then drove both, now totally give up on Uber. Why?

1. Comparably higher rate, plus lesser commission (20% compared to 25%)
2. The higher quality rider theory no longer valid, cuz Uber start taking cash customer, so not much difference, plus with GC fierce advertising and promo, more people are taking GC.
3. Know where the Rider's destination b4 I accept, good for part timer cuz can choose to reject long drive if you just plan to fill up that hour or two in between other scheduled plans.

After one year, I finally open my Grab Driver app. Now, I open both the apps at the same time. Reduce my waiting time. lol.

for me i will judge base on the time on waze. (because I feel the time base on Uber / Google map less accurate).
firstly, will accept the request and check the time required to pick up. if more than 10 minutes will call and ask rider his destination. if just short trip will ask rider to cancel or self cancel.

All the time 

Example:
Give driver option to choose accept non cash ride only, cash ride only or both as cash ride carry certain risk, criminals can get prepaid mobile, create dummy email and register as new riders. - Rejected. Reason, impact the reliability of the ride availability (aka riders and Uber fees more important than drivers aka Uber partner feedback). Almost kena, so, even I reached, I decide to cancel the ride. Write to Uber to explain, no cancellation fee, reason, I don't wait for 5 min (wahlau leh, if I wait 5 min, my life and car will be in danger, and I am not Jackie Chan, Ip Man, Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme or whoever martial art expert)

Told that the current cancellation policy, need to wait 5 minutes only can cancel, or you reach pickup destination, rider cancelled within 5 min, no cancellation fee. Ask to revised. Cannot.

Ride distance is shorter than the distance drove to pick up, which does not make any economical sense nor anyone would do that. Write to Uber, reason given, again, Uber system should be as reliable as possible and available so that riders always get ride whenever needed....

The above 3 example had shown that Uber does not have any interest of the driver at all, all you care is milked as much as possible from the driver! And, how could you say you have assisted your partner, aka Uber driver Anyway, I won't blame you on that, it is rule of the game, business is all about profit, not about charity. But, your actions had borderline of ethical business conduct. Just a friendly reminder to you, there is not only 1 ride sharing service available in Malaysia, there is Grab also.....as much as you can gain ridership share from Grab, you can lost as much driver to them too....end of day, even you got all the riders, but, no drivers....you would still lose....you need to play balance game for both rider and driver. I do not have the data, but, I am sure you have, just go review the active drivers trend...is it increasing or decreasing?  No point having new drivers, but, not active, or just active for short period (to hit the welcome incentive)

I won't say Grab is perfect, they have their own flaws also, but, end of day, given option, riders will choose the best ride from both Grab and Uber, same goes to drivers too, they willl choose the one who reward them the most, or treat them better.....and, how you know, just look at the churned rate of drivers compare to active new drivers rate...now, I had give you free MBA lesson already, no need thank me for that.

The thing is i can access my documents page and its all verified so its just bank now maybe?
Also wondering why do uber let you access everything in uber driver app eventhough I cant go online/not activated yet.
