Typical marketing strategy of Malaysian companies. Throw low price, hope to gain some return customers.
*
I think they are try to attract return customers and new customers as well. Still a lot of conventional people use taxi.

Foreign people use cards as well but their phone number is other countries. So sometime you can't find them because you can't call or they don't call you. doh.gif Then rider do not show up, then he beep you again. lol

Penang Uber accept cash if not mistaken...
*
Ipoh, Penang, JB, and Singapore now accept Cash Payment options. It may not roll out for all Riders/Partners right away, even some new register account have chances that won't show the cash payment options, might take days or two...

QUOTE(jasontantenghuat @ Apr 15 2016, 04:36 PM)
Any driver here got the same customer more than once before?

I picked the same lady twice. I think she Ubers to and from work everyday. And I definitely pass her workplace on the way home.

I normally on Uber when I'm driving home from work.
*
Have regular customers are good but there is one minor issues, I do remember I read somewhere else at other countries that if the riders often continously request the same partners, it might triggers fraud alert. sweat.gif It will show suspicious activity... But no worry la, here so far I haven't read someone report this problem.

JUST DUIT

We're excited to announce that we're rolling out CASH in Kuala Lumpur!

We know you may have questions regarding cash, so we've prepared a helpful guide on cash HERE.

To get started, please complete a 10-minute online training by 19th April (Wed), 11:59pm.

FAILURE to do so may lead to possible account suspension and inability to complete cash trips.

To help all our partners during the transition, we'll have a 1-week period between April 18th - April 23rd, 2016 where we'll be opening up the PSC for any questions, feedback or for resolving any issues with cash trips.

Stay tuned for our official launch.

You can't. But if the rider is cash payment, you will know when you start trips. It will remind you to collect cash.

Sounds great for riders, but on the another side, what will those drivers thinking?

can we choose riders as in only allow credit card ones? don't you think cash is too much of a hassle?
*
You CAN'T choose and you WON'T know the the Uber rider is CASH trips UNTIL you swipe the START TRIPS button.
There is a grey button above the Complete Trips ask you to "Collect Cash" before you can swipe the Complete button.

QUOTE(propusers @ Apr 18 2016, 10:13 AM)
What are the info of rider show in the app when I got the request (before accept)? Nationality, Payment mode, can know before accept?
*
Location, Rating etc..
You won't know how he look, what he wear, what payment mode, how many of them, female/male. Just no.

Hey i asked this before. I really dunno how uber or gc making money.

Me i just ride only and pay. Waiting for the next good promo from gc...and maybe uber. And prefer credit card. Also dunt like the hassle of paying cash. And use credit card can give me points too. Who needs cash.
*
Uber provide a platform for ride-hailing, and earn 25% commission from those who drive.

Situation 1.
You used to fetch your friend without charging him.

Situation 2.
You fetch friend by charging him RM10, and you collect RM7.50, Uber company take RM2.50.

Foreign people use CASH.

hey all driver. please help give idea on this few item.
1. rider A: use cash payment , if the trip fare is rm3.30 , he always need to pay exactly amount right. if he cant. how we rounded up to rm4 ? tell rider ? or need to report rider via app ? quite confusing here.. hehehehe
*
System won't round up. According to Uber staff told me, you need to collect:
1. RM 3.30 exact amount, no change for him/her
OR
2. RM 4.00 exact amount, change may needed if he pay RM5 or RM10 or RM20 or RM50

Riders / Partners apps WON'T round up to RM 4.00 to show on your screen.

Edit: If CASH Riders complain why need to round up, show him/her this screenshots.

I think I would go according this general rule...

< 50 cents = round down to nearest whole amount

> 50 cents = round up to nearest whole amount
*
The screenshots I show you is round UP to nearest ringgit. Not round DOWN.
If last week your fare + GH everything is RM 20.00 - 25% Uber Fee = RM 15.00
If you round DOWN, you are making LOSS.

QUOTE
Let's say:
CASH Fare: RM 5.49
You Collected: RM 5.00

Your Fare last week (for example): RM 20.00
Uber Fee (25%): - RM 5.00
CASH collected: - RM 5.49
Your Incentive: RM 9.51

Your real earning: RM 9.51 + RM 5.00 = RM 14.51

QUOTE(musteng @ Apr 21 2016, 02:59 PM)
Nice explaination on the total fare earning.
However the rider satisfaction may take into consideration while rounding up the fare.
Not every rider will have the awareness on Uber policy rounding up the fare If rider fail to pay in exact amount.

Same as the policy to start the trip 1 minute after arrival. Even driver proceed with notification, rider will still unhappy on it.
*
Rider unhappy? Afraid of getting low rating? No problem.
I rate low stars to all riders that late, and same goes to them rate us if we come late. If they do apologize for being late with some good valid reason. I give them 4 stars, otherwise they will get 2 stars from me.

If they are not aware of the Uber cash round up policy, is not our problem, is because they didn't read the terms. That's why as a driver, we should educate them, not encourage them to abuse our time and incentive.

Not to forget, collect more is safer collect less. What if you found out the trips fare are incorrect, Uber stated it clearly that, they won't adjust the fare for you driver if the trips is CASH terms. So no bargain. Think about your time and effort you put into?

QUOTE(propusers @ Apr 21 2016, 03:17 PM)
Agree! Best solution is prepare some coins.
*
Goodluck, you just encourage and educate them treat Uber Driver just like Taxi driver.

No matter how nice you are, some crappy rider still gonna rate you 4 stars because they think 4 stars is more than enough. Because they don't know about our drivers 4.6/4.3/4.0 stars policy.
