WTA: how high chances i able to get Uber ride at 4:15am morning to KL sentral?
*
Depends on which day is it, and also your location.
I'd say normally you should be able to get one within 30 mins, unless you stay inside some estate laugh.gif

You can,
1. Schedule an advance ride with Uber.
2. Post your travelling details here and how much you want to offer, wait for someone to PM you.

The Uber fare is really gg one. Went on a spree and did 16 trips yesterday, overall average is not even rm10/trip.

Luckily, the weekday quest is completed hahaha...

Im new to uber, so if you completed 21 trips, you get rm75 ?  or you need to do full 54 trips to get both reward ?
*
Complete a minimum of 21 trips can get rm75.
I am not able to do 54 trips in 4 days.
This weekend, the quest is 39 trips minimum for me - which I terus ignore and let it be 0/39 puke.gif

About these quests, the more times you hit the lesser it will be the following week.
When at minimum, then it will raise your minimum trip requirement.

just my suggestion. and no need allow driver to see destination. later become teksi mentality just like Grab driver now.
*
Uber is not fit to be called a ride-sharing company - NOT AT ALL.
Grab is, because you can choose where you want to go.
If still unable to see destination, then change name to Uber Cheap Charity Taxi Ltd. better.

During promotion, the amount of <rm5 trips is at least 70%.
Grab has minimum fare, higher fare, and 5% lesser commission.
Even with the current new incentive structure, it's still much better income than Uber which has none.

Now I even suspect them of messing up/getting shady with surge fares.
A couple of times when I was at >2.5x surge areas, I don't get immediate ping - I was sent to areas which is 6-7kms away and 0 surge instead.
I don't know if anyone has this experience.

I think all these min trip is to encourage to convert part time to full time....driving part time maybe hard to reach all these numbers?

I suspected nowadays more part time drivers than full time, and these part time drivers usually drive after office hours, weekends...where lack of drivers during day time, week day....

BTW, all these special incentives only for weekend or whole week? Dunno, just my opinion.....long time no drive  rclxub.gif

Mon 4am - Fri 4am - 1 quest
Fri 4am - Mon 4am - 1 quest

Bro, if convert to full-time Uber driver - everyday can eat vege lar.
Part-time also not profitable already, how can consider for full-time ?

I apologize if my postings above are quite strong-worded and might offend some Uber fans/ass-lickers.
But I don't shy away from telling the truth.
Choose not to believe, you can try for yourself.
I have no Grab account btw, so I am not advertising for them LOLX...

Drive for fun ok, without thinking too much of profit, but, if driving with intention to earn a living, better don't, you get stressed up when if the income does not match your expense or expectation, and you may tend to be irrational, putting more hours on the road, higher fatigue, more bad mood, higher risk of accident.

+1
Very wise words.

I am only driving "suka-suka" only, this word is recommended by one of my Uber rider icon_idea.gif
Of course I have other reasons for driving hahaha...

Of course, it is definitely possible to achieve.
Just have to drive full day 8-10 hours everyday.
I don't even want to calculate the risk of driving at night, unless Uber abolishes the cash payment option.

Getting ping is not an issue for Uber - profitable or not is another story.
After a tiring day driving and when you check your total fare for the day, you will most probably puke.

Good to see somebody talking some sense.

I really don't understand what's all this fuss about wanting to know where the rider is heading to and cancel or not accept if it's not to liking.

The concept from day one is if you go online, you are prepared to take every job. That's what I was briefed when I joined. Drive 5km to pick up and send 1km, everyday also I get. Am I happy about it, of course no. But it's just part of the job. Same as when i get a 2.4x surge to the airport, do I offer to refund to the rider ? It's the same effort and cost as earning RM65. Of course I wont refund. And if I didn't take that shit trip earlier, I wouldn't  I have gotten the good trips also. Sometimes win, sometimes lose la.

What other job lets you win or make you feel entitled that you only gain all the time wan?
*
This is on the road, not at a casino table.
This is a job, we burn our petrol and our time - and expect us to lose money ?

Yes, impose a minimum fare seems fair.
Cheapskate riders if not happy can gtfo, I'd rather wait 15-30 mins for a good trip ping - rather than non-stop short trip pings.

And without knowing the destination, it doesn't fit the "ride-sharing" word.
Again, I do understand that if not happy can quit LOLX...

Maybe tell me how exactly are you 'losing money' with the short trips? You are not losing money. You are just not earning as much as you like, there's a difference.

Anyway, to each his own. Maybe you are doing it right and I am doing it wrong. LOLX
rm3-4 fare not losing money and time ?
Sorry, I forgot that your dad opens a petrol station with a workshop side-by-side.
That's why your car fuel and maintenance is free.

Nice income btw, great for recruiting unsuspecting new drivers.

Like I have said before to the others, go try for yourself and see.
Put in 40 hours a week and see if you make half of this sifu's income LOLX...

Sifu any tips to earn more ? I do surge from 12-2 and 4-6 ..feel like bangla earn more then me
*
Do trips from PJ towards the east side of the map (PJ lunch time is essential).
Trips from PJ towards the west side of the map (including Subang & Shah Alam) generally sux pretty much.

This way, rm20-25 per hour is achievable.
If compared to last year, it's still way lower but at least higher than what you are earning now.

how u calculate boost? in uber it says...
Boost = Fare * Boost Multiple
Total Fare (with Boost) = Fare + Boost

today i picked up in 1.7x boost area. fare was rm13.78 but my boost added was only rm1.84
*
Because the surge is at around 1.5-1.6x when you accept the trip.
Uber will only add the difference between the surge and the boost.

And pls check your trips from time to time.
Nowadays, the server frequently have boost error.
Areas which are supposed to have boost sometimes end up with no multiplier.

Best advice is to check for the multiplier before you accept the trip.
Otherwise you will have to contact CS after you completed the trip.

Can't really blame them for reducing it. The number of assholes who are gaming all the airport trips is ridiculous.

Anytime you go airport also the queue will be full wan. Both for KLIA and KLIA2. All plant GPS.

This is totally true.
I think mostly are done by the airport taxi drivers.

Upfront fair is really a "good" tactic by Uber.

Yesterday I tried driving at 6 pm around Kelana Jaya area.
Total 2 trips done and rm10 grossed, in 1 hour of driving.
Needless to say, offline straight away after 2 trips hahaha...

Peak hour is GG already if this is the case.

After reading this thread for a few weeks,I finally decided to take action and register as an uber driver.I highly recommend bro ian (TS) to newbies out there because he has been very helpful.you guys can PM him and he will arrange a meeting to have you prepared technically and mentally.

I have attached my humble results (not to brag,it's not impressive anyway) to show those who are still undecided whether or not to drive as a reference.do not expect it to be easy, really need to put in the effort

worth it or not,you decide

If you have started driving since last year, you'd not have been proud of these income.
Same driving hours, but income loss of about 30-40%.

Still something to cheer abt, keep up the good work.
Uber will love you a lot rclxms.gif

Nope....i am not proud of my result coz i know i could drove more efficiently (i am noob newbie driver).pro driver will surely yield a better hourly result.anyway,i dunno how you guys earn last year but to a not highly educated guy with poor background like me.....this is a good alternative to earn more income.

Cheers and goodnite thumbsup.gif

Your income/hour is fine, the difference is the number of online hours different ppl put in.

Sometimes, I really salute you guys for having such a determination.
Well done.

i drove during super high surge and i only got RM5.37 for 1 1/2 hours ride. rider only go 3km and it was super jam.  can't pick up other riders and also cannot drop them off. next round if super jam, i cancel trip even better off. after dropping that rider, i go offline and ask uber to fly kite.

yes, u get paid high for 1 trip but if the surge is so high, 90% it's short distance and in an hour, u can only do 1 trip. not worth it.
*
So you have realised what is the "upfront fare".
There is always a reason for crazy high surge, check waze first before you decide to drive.

I'd call it a sink-hole hahaha...
Once you jump in for the trip, you're pretty much GG for that 1-2 hours.

I have also noticed that some of my collection and fare charges is different - but not as staggering as yeezai though LOL...

Seriously, wonder will there any driver around or not during that time  sweat.gif

That day I kena the "upfront fare" at Kelana Jaya area during after office hours, so I conlanfirm I won't make myself online anymore during jam/peak hours.

Until they sort these things out clearly HAHAHA...
