Uber will use their own calculation (which wasn't revealed). if you recalculate your fares according to your duration, distance and base fare, Uber's calculation will be cheaper.

if you need to come to PJ to activate, than don't drive for uber. it's really not worth your time, money and effort to come here just to activate your account.

A WARNING if you want to be Uber Driver....

Story:
1) Got a request at Jalan PJS 7/7, Bandar Sunway
2) Arrived at the location and rider wasn't there. Called the rider and he is at PJS 9.
3) Rider decided to cancel the trip and I wasn't compensated for the ride even though i reached the pickup point.
4) Uber 1st reply: GPS problem
5) Uber 2nd reply after i complaint: Say i reach wrong location.
6) I told them to recheck and i didn't arrived wrong location because the "start trip" icon appeared.
7) Uber blame rider for putting wrong pick up point and say since rider cancelled before 5 minutes, no compensation for me even if i reach the pick up point earlier.

Since uber is playing dirty, when i reach location and rider is not there, i will wait 5 minutes and cancel straight away. I won't call rider to tell them that i've arrived. they will have to be there when i reach the pick up point (whether pick up point is correct or wrong). Riders will need to call me within that 5 minutes else they will face cancellation fees.

I will beat uber is the playing dirty game.

there is a possibility that you drive all the way and still not activated. or may need to come back to PJ again.

from this forum, you already know that Ipoh rides are usually short trip earning you only between RM5-RM10 per ride. It's really not worth it, IMHO.

i hate riders that lazy to key in address. they either rely on the gps or just simply drag the pin. when there is mistake, the losing end is the driver. i don't understand why it's so hard to key in the pickup point.

after that incident, each time rider lazy to key in pickup point, i drive to the pin and wait, no turn up, i cancel straight away. i won't drive to the exact location.

yes, this is the best method.... usually if a far detour, i will say "oops, i accidentally end trip. didn't know you are going to KLIA".

many have moved to grab. with uber, nowadays drivers will get ping very far away and if you open the uber app, the cars are not so much.

Uber can go ahead and ban but frustrated drivers wouldn't care much because they can still move to Grab. when there is alternative and the app company not paying well, people will just leave without thinking twice.

not worth the wait... queue 100-110 will take u about 2 -3 hours. u can do better driving off than to earn RM60 for that.

14 km i surely cancel and curse uber to hell.... i won't pick the request.

u are better off getting your beauty sleep during this hour rather than drive for uber. the rate must be really good if you want to sacrifice your sleep.

for me, any boost below 1.3, i won't drive unless i got a ride to a no boost area, i will drive 2 - 3 rides and go home just to cover my cost to go back home. than i will offline..... nowadays i get calculative with uber.

7 minutes in MV is quite ridiculous... i also avoid that area unless it is a drop off.

also with this promo, many bangla sit my car and each time they leave, got to wind down window to let the BO out.

if 1 hour you do RM15 -Rm20, you are earning average. anything less than RM15, that's very very low.

in general, u can do 2 - 3 trips in an hour and will average about there. if KLIA trip than u can only do 1 trip in an hour.

that's low.

since selayang / batu caves is not so far from Dutamas / publika / mont kiara, u should drive there instead for surge and boost.

i drove in batu caves and selayang area before. mostly short trips. the riders don't really can afford to pay for long trips.

every since prabhu resigned, i received from uber services malaysia sdn bhd.

same company i guess. it doesn't matter as long as you get your payment.

u can thank me tomorrow when u start driving at Mont Kiara / Hartamas / Publika.

no more. now replaced with Boost.
